About this mod

This mod is designed as an add-on to Cracker's Wither Storm Mod, and partially inspired by the V-Sides Soundtrack mod. This mod allows you to define custom music to play during certain events of the Wither Storm using a Youtube URL. The mod is also fully client-side, meaning you can use the mod without it being installed on the server (also means no lag)!

You may use this mod in your modpack.

Below is an example of the Now Playing overlay, which will display the song title, progress, and channel, with support for scrolling text to view the full title.

Example of the Now Playing overlay

This mod is in early development, expect many changes.

List of currently configurable events

  • Phase 1-3
  • Phase 4-5
  • Formidibomb (inventory, placed, and ignited)
  • Withered Symbiont
  • Phase 6-7
  • Bowels ambient theme
  • Command block fight

All of the above have configurable volume and distance for each event.

Revival and fake death is planned.

Specific information

The mod is pre-bundled with YT-DLP, which is why the file size is so large. YT-DLP is necessary for music to be downloaded via the URL, aswell as metadata retrieval.

For now, only Youtube URLs are supported. To define a URL for the mod to use, go to the config and navigate to the desired event which is under a category (see gallery). The rest is self-explanatory.

Most changes require a full restart of Minecraft.

Known issues:

  • The death logic (where music stops when the Wither Storm is confirmed dead) is broken with the CWS Plus resource pack. Why? I have no idea.
  • Bunch of broken commands due to them being only partially removed after finished debugging
