Features
Realistic Survival:
It comes with plenty of realistic features like:
Thirst Bar
- The Thirst will be a new bar to look out for, just like the Hunger Bar; you may take damage or die if it runs out.
- This will only drain out when losing Hunger Bars while sprinting. It may drain faster if you have the Hot Temperature Effect or higher.
- You can regain the water levels by drinking water, milk, potion, or even foods that contain water (like fruits, vegetables, soup, etc).
- Or... If you're desperate, you can even regain water levels by drowning.
- When drinking water from water sources, be aware that you may get the Thirst Effect that'll drain your Water Levels over time, and the more you do that, it will extend the timer of the effect. (This can be configured by a Gamerule called "Natural Water Source Penalties")
- Players can purify water bottles using the Water Filter, which won't give them the Thirst Effect and hydrate them a little more.
- Some effects can help, which are the Thirst Resistance and Quenched.
- The Thirst Bar is configurable by the game rule, so you can disable it if you don't want it part of your survival gameplay.
Temperature Bar
- The Temperature Bar is another feature of the Realistic Survival.
- The Temperature will depend on the biome, has armor, a torch in hand, is in water, and whether there's light or heat around.
- If Players are not in a comfortable temperature zone, they may suffer from penalties that'll give them a temperature side effect, which all have different outcomes.
- If players are in the hot zone of temperature (Usually Yellow to Red), they'll receive a Hot Effect or worse (Like Very Hot, Scorching Hot, etc)
- When Players have a Hot Effect or worse, it'll drain the Thirst Bar faster. It's scaled depending on how hot they are, from Hot to Scalding Hot.
- If players are in the cold zone of temperature (Usually Aqua to Blue color), they'll receive a Cold Effect or worse (Like Freezing Cold, or Glacial)
- When Players have a Cold Effect or worse, it'll reduce the maximum Saturation levels. Likely making Players hungry more easily when sprinting and/or jumping, and won't regenerate as much if they eat food-valuable items. It's scaled depending on how cold they are, from Cold to Glacial.
- If it reaches the maximum of either Hot or Cold, players will take damage over time.
- If they reach the Nether, they'll receive the Boiling Hot Effect, which damages Players (Even more than the Glacial and Scalding Hot).
- To avoid burning up in the Nether with that Boiling Hot Effect, you'll need any Netherite Armor Piece or a special armor enchantment called "Nether Heatness Immunity".
- You can find the Nether Heatness Immunity Enchantment in chests or villager trades.
- When entering the End, you'll get very cold. Try preparing by wearing armor; a torch can also help, if you have one, either in your offhand or mainhand.
- The Temperature Bar is configurable by the game rule, so you can disable it if you don't want it part of your survival gameplay.
Critical System:
Yes, as part of the partial realistic survival mod. It adds some realistic features.
Being Attacked
- Being attacked by monsters can inflict players with all kinds of debuffs that have different disadvantages.
- Monsters with Swords or Axes can also become a greater threat as they can inflict players with effects that last longer.
- It's best to be more careful when dealing with monsters, as they can now affect your attributes, Max Health, and other consequences that will affect the player's gameplay.
Falling and Jumping from high places
- Falling or jumping from high places can result in leg injuries that can slow you down.
- Running with those leg injuries will slow down the healing process, extending the timer of the injury. It can even damage players over time.
Effects
Thirst Bar Effects:
These effects modify the Thirst Bar, and if that game rule is disabled, all of those effects on the Player will instantly be removed.
Thirst
- Like so, it'll drain the Player Thirst bar over time.
- You can get this effect if you drink from water sources (if the Natural Water Source Penalties game rule is enabled)
Thirst Resistance
- This effect will split the drain amount in half, slowing down the drain process.
- This won't work on the Thirst Effect, which continuously drains the same amount regardless of whether Players have this effect with a higher potency or have the Thirst Resistance or not.
- At the moment, you can't get this effect unless you use cheats. There will be an update soon that will add a new item to get this effect, though.
Quenched
- It'll regain some Thirst amount over time.
- At the moment, you can't get this effect unless you use cheats. There will be an update soon that will add a new item to get this effect, though.
Critical System Effects:
Abrasion
- One of the most common and minor injuries in the mod.
- This will slightly reduce your Max Health (By 5%).
- You'll take extra damage when a mob inflicts this effect.
- Being attacked by Zombies, Spiders, or Evoker Fangs can inflict this effect.
- A First Aid Bandage will treat this effect, giving you a Treated Abrasion Effect with a faster healing time and won't reduce your Max Health as much.
- This effect cannot be cured by Milk.
Deep Laceration
- A more threatening wound injury than an Abrasion.
- This will significantly reduce your Max Health (By 25%).
- You're more likely to get the Bleeding Effect if you keep getting attacked by monsters.
- Being attacked by Zombies, Spiders, or Evoker Fangs can inflict this effect.
- Being attacked by sword or axe-wielding mobs can also inflict this effect with a longer timer.
- Using a Sewing Kit will cure this effect.
- This effect cannot be cured by Milk.
Bleeding
- You'll take damage over time. (You'll also take more damage the higher the potency)
- Being attacked by Zombies, Spiders, or Evoker Fangs can inflict this effect.
- Being attacked by sword or axe-wielding mobs can also inflict this effect with a longer timer.
- The chances of getting this effect when attacked by a monster are increased if you have the Deep Laceration Effect.
- The Bleed Resistance Effect will prevent you from getting this effect when attacked by monsters. (Using a Bandage, First Aid Bandage, or a Sewing Kit will grant you this effect for a few seconds)
- This effect can be cured by multiple medical items, which are the Bandage, First Aid Bandage, or a Sewing Kit
- This effect cannot be cured by Milk.
