This mod is a remake of a roblox feature from the game Noobs Vs Zombies Realish Reborn. THE MOLD IS NOT MY IDEA, IT IS MARIOMAN73's IDEA. GO CHECK HIM OUT.

 

Btw feel free to make videos on this mod! It's encouraged!

 

Post-Rework/Modern Mold:

IT IS HIGHLY RECCOMENDED TO USE GUN MODS WITH THIS MOD ON. THIS MOD WILL NOT HOLD YOUR HAND.

With that being said, this mod is EXTREMELY SLOW. You can speed up the rate of which Mold spawns with the gamemode options in the Config!

 

You can also access and turn on Experimental Features in the Config, which will make the mod... A LOT harder...

How the Mold Starts:

Zombies will randomly mutate when they reach the surface, turning into Moldy Zombies. Once they mutate they will attack anything that isn't a zombie. Once they reach 5 kills, they will evolve into a Proto Mold Seed.

That's it.

 

Proto Mold:

The relatively harmless version of The Mold. It can only spawn spikes and convert your biome into Contaminated Lands.

It spreads Proto Mold everywhere, and when mined, gives Proto Mold Chunks. That's used to create Moldy Iron, and the Proto Sword.

It will rot away when the Proto Mold Seed is dead. It can dupe blocks under it if there isn't air above it.

 

Contaminated Lands:

The Contaminated Lands is the biome that spawns when The Mold spreads. It prevents Zombies from burning, and spawns both normal and Moldy Zombies. (AND ONLY them) naturally, at a pretty fast pace as well.

When either The Mold, or a Proto Mold Seed is defeated, it will decay into a Plains biome.

 

The Mold:

The Mold is the main infection that this mod brings. It's also what spawns after there are TWO Proto Mold Seeds alive in your world. There's a good reason for the buffer. You need it.

 

It CANNOT destroy things with it's spreading, but structure generation can still break in. So be wary!

The Mold has a maximum spreading radius of 250 blocks around itself. It cannot spread any further.

 

The Mold can be split into 4 Phases:

Underdeveloped:

The Underdeveloped stage of The Mold starts when it spawns in, and up until the Nucleus is created. It can be killed in this stage. Do not let it grow too much.

In the Underdeveloped Stage, only Small and Medium Mold Bulbs can be created. Small spawn instantly and Medium start spawning once The Mold has at least 1000 points. (More on Mold Bulbs later)

The only way you can kill The Mold is if it's in this phase.

Developed:

 

The Mold enters the Developed stage when it grows a Nucleus. Which makes The Mold unkillable until it is defeated.

Once The Mold reaches the Developed stage, it can create Giant Tendrils, which it uses to pick up any victims and drop them to their deaths. Don't get too close!

The Mold will start to spread again, if at least slightly. It probably wont be too noticable, as by the Developed stage, it has almost certainly reached the maximum spread area it can be.

This is probably one of the shortest stages The Mold has.

 

Overdeveloped:

This happens when The Mold grows Trees, large structures that shoot at things from a distance. (currently WIP and doesn't shoot.) They stretch out into the sky. You can see them for miles. They will also spawn rotlings occasionally (Also not implemented, but coming soon.)

Rotlings will evolve based on the ammount of kills they get. Rotling -> Rot -> Rot Mother. (not added yet)

Hyperdeveloped:

The Mold grows into a massive tree called The Supershroom it grows to world-height, and becomes unable to die until you deal with the nucleus. It will also send hordes of mutants to attack you no-matter where you are. (none of this is added, this is just planned)

 

 Mold Bulbs & Structures:

Small Mold Bulb:

Small Mold Bulbs mostly just spawn spikes, and spike-beds. However the actually dangerous stuff they can spawn are:

  • Gas Fissures: Structures that damage anything that gets too close to them.
  • Screamer Mounds: Mounds that shriek when you run too fast past them. They apply Poison and Nausea.
  • Mold Beings: Creatures that lure you in like a siren when not on familliar terretory, before bursting open and trying to maul you to death.
  • Mold Lights: Increases the points every tick it is active (This is a block, so don't expect it to be overly fast.)

 

Medium Mold Bulb:

Medium Mold Bulbs (also) mostly just spawn spikes, and spike-beds. However, the dangerous stuff they spawn are:

  • Nuclei: Structures that make The Mold unkilable, and advance it out of the Underdeveloped Stage. Makes The Mold unkillable until you kill it. Emits a beacon of green light when you get close enough to it to find it easier. Subtracts half of The Mold's points upon death.
  • Termite Mounds: Termite Mounds spawn Termites randomly.
  • Hungry Cysts: Giant Mouths that eat you when you get too close. They are extremely dangerous and cannot be killed.
  • Brain Masses: Brains that blind you, and prevent you from sprinting when you're near them. These are a must-kill because of their disorientation.
  • Mutant Pods: Pods filled with mutants that burst when someone gets too close to them after a certain ammount of time has passed for them to develop.

 

 

oh and there's also an E-girl, but I wouldn't get too close in survival mode.

Pre-Rework/Legacy Mold:

 

This mod is not created to fight other infection mods, its only goal is to fight the player.

 

The Mold:
The Mold is a highly infectious fungus, a mutation of the popular Myceliosis Parasitum, it originally was located inside of a cave hidden away for years after getting out-competed by its more studied and infectious brother. While stuck inside of the cave, it observed the spores, and the constructs that Myceliosis Parasitum would create, very slowly bits and pieces of brain matter, infected tissue, fragments of infected ground, and more accumulated inside of the cave. The Mold learned from its brother, experimenting, adapting, and changing parts of itself to mimic and improve. It still remained hidden in its cave. Waiting for the right time to strike. More years passed as Myceliosis Parastium was getting pushed back, as its creators had developed a vaccine for the bioweapon, giving any bite from the fungus less lethality. Eventually the creators had left for the end, thinking that they had beat all of the fungus. However, The Mold had remained, feeding off of the stone and dirt for years. Finally, the brainmatter that The Mold had gained from Myceliosis Parasitum had died, telling The Mold all it needed.

This mod is VERY difficult and will probably push you to your limits.

The Mold has 7 phases, each getting tougher and tougher.

 

WAKING PHASE.

  • The first phase of The Mold.
  • Small worms will start to spawn, which will infect the wildlife around.
  • Ends at 2000 MP (Mold Points).

MOLDING PHASE.

  • Starts at 2000 MP.
  • The Mold is able to create Molding Sacs.
  • Large structures can now come from The Mold.
  • Ends at 4000 MP.

PROTONUCLEUS PHASE.

  • Starts at 4000 MP.
  • The Mold is able to evolve the Molding Sacs into a protonucleus.
  • The Protonucleus makes The Mold spread faster, and heals The Mold continuously so it cannot be killed.
  • Ends at 8000 MP.

NUCLEUS PHASE.

  • Starts at 8000 MP.
  • Makes Mold deadly to step on.
  • Moldy mobs can now spawn naturally.
  • Ends at 20000 MP.

ROOTING PHASE.

  • Starts at 20000 MP.
  • Mold raids can now spawn, which spawn a ton of Moldy Mobs which then try to hunt you down.
  • Evolved Moldy mobs can now spawn naturally.
  • Ends at 40000 MP.

SPROUTING PHASE.

  • Starts at 40000 MP.
  • The Mold can now spread on its own, not needing external help from infected creatures. (The block itself can now spread using RTS)
  • Ends at 100000 MP.

SUPERSHROOM PHASE.

  • Does not do anything at the moment.More will be added to each phase, this is just a pre-release.
