3D Skin Layers
About the Modification
This mod completely transforms the appearance of game characters by replacing the flat second skin layer with a full-fledged three-dimensional model. Now all clothing elements such as jackets, sleeves, and headwear gain real volume and depth.
The mod's feature lies in its smart rendering system: when players are more than 12 blocks away, standard 2D visualization is automatically activated to maintain high performance. This is especially important in multiplayer modes and on servers with many players.
The mod fully supports transparent elements, allowing for realistic glasses, visors, and other cosmetic details. All changes work exclusively on the client side, so server installation is not required.

- Zigzag patterns may connect at corners - this is a feature of 3D transformation mathematics
- When using shaders, some body parts may cast incorrect shadows
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the mod need to be installed on the server?
No. This is a fully client-side mod, server installation is not required.
Does it work with HD skins?
No. Since pixels don't have the correct shape, this is not possible.
Layers pass through modified armor
Some modified armor is positioned closer to the body. Reduce the 3D layer size in the mod settings.
Layers are offset from the body
You're likely using an ETF/EMF resource pack. Make sure it's updated to the current Minecraft version.
