Origins: Aberration Modification
Skilled enigmatic travelers who carry an ink-filled capsule to enhance mobility and are doomed to eternal wandering due to a curse.
Ink Capsule
You have access to an ink reservoir, indicated by a ● meter. This ink enables you to use special abilities and gradually regenerates over time.
- When airborne, ink regeneration accelerates.
- Your primary ability allows you to dash forward. Using it with elytra enables you to soar through the skies. A normal dash costs 10 ink, while using elytra costs 15.
- Your secondary ability propels you upwards for 10 ink - the height depends on whether you're sprinting or not.
- While sneaking, you can glide downwards safely, consuming 1 ink per second.
Movement Mastery
Since ink pressure enhances your travel capabilities, you've learned to move faster in the air and deal increased damage while not touching the ground.
Resourceful Ink
Regular and glow ink sacs can be consumed to quickly refill your capsule. Glow ink sacs are more nourishing, and special crafting recipes exist for them.
- In combat form, consuming glow ink sacs grants you night vision.
- An ancient recipe passed down through generations.
Vulnerability to Fire
The ink composing your body cannot withstand fire. When burning, you lose ink.
- Loses 8 ink per tick.
- Fireworks don't help you fly - use ink dashes for movement instead.
Energy Dependency
Using ink has its drawbacks. With low ink levels, you heal slower and deal less damage.
- With a full capsule, healing occurs 20% faster, while with nearly empty ink, it's 50% worse.
Race Subtypes
Abnormal
Destined to search for an enlightening tale.
The Abnormals never mutated like Aberrants and Aberrances, vowing to remain unchanged.
💡 Atypical
You haven't changed. The standard Aberration experience without special features.
Aberrant
Ink flows freely if you allow it.
Upon transcending their capsule limitations, Aberrants developed an insatiable thirst for exploration beyond all expectations.
🔋 Overcharged
Travel is so vital to you that your ink has adapted to this belief. Your dashes now extinguish fire, and after each dash, there's a brief window for additional movement without cooldown restrictions.
- During elytra flight, you cannot bypass the dash cooldown, but your airspeed increases during this period.
👀 Multiple Eyes
Without exposure to sunlight, you gain the ability to see in the dark.
💔 Discharge
With ink levels below half, you take double damage.
Aberrance
Kill those destined to die.
Uncontrollable violent impulses have made Aberrances lethally dangerous opponents.
⚔️ Combat Focus
Combat skills have weakened your abilities, making them less effective but more costly to use.
- Dashing now costs 30 ink, while dashing with elytra costs 25. Using the secondary ability costs 20 ink, and gliding costs 2 ink per second.
🗡️ Isolated Ink
When passing through entities, you coat them with ink, the effects of which are visible in tooltips.
- Hitting an ink-coated target restores 1 hunger and 1 saturation.
💧 Ink Effects
Enemies covered in ink experience movement slowdown and cannot heal. The ink effect dissipates over time.
- Raven's Eye: Entities affected by ink take more damage from your arrows.
🧪 Transfer
Attacking an ink-coated target while you have active effects removes them from you and transfers them to the enemy.
- This can backfire since beneficial potion effects may also transfer. Unlike the original duration, all transferred effects last only 30 seconds.
