Ageing Mobs
Mob Transformation in Minecraft
This modification introduces a unique evolution mechanic for creatures in the game. Under specific conditions, various mobs can change, transforming into stronger or alternative forms.
Available Transformations
The standard version of the mod implements the following transformations:
- Creeper → Charged Creeper
- Zombie → Husk
- Husk → Zombie
- Baby Zombie → Adult Zombie (also Baby Husk → Adult Husk)
- Villager → Vindicator
- Vindicator → Evoker
- Guardian → Elder Guardian
- Endermite → Shulker
- Skeleton → Stray
- Stray → Skeleton
- Rabbit → Killer Rabbit
- Cow → Mooshroom
- Bat → Vex
Special Nether Transformations
- Skeleton → Wither Skeleton with bow
- Slime → Magma Cube
Transformation Conditions
Each transformation requires specific conditions to be met:
- Creepers gradually age during thunderstorms and eventually turn into charged creepers
- Zombies in hot biomes eventually become husks
- Husks in cold biomes turn back into zombies
- Baby zombies grow up over time, becoming adult zombies
- Villagers kept in darkness for too long become vindicators (their age decreases when in light)
- Vindicators near magical items (bookshelves, brewing stands, enchantment tables) transform into evokers
- Guardians evolve into elder guardians after a long period
- Endermites age over time; when named, they live longer and can bury themselves in purpur blocks, which then turn into shulkers
- Skeletons in cold biomes freeze and become strays
- Strays in hot biomes turn back into skeletons
- Rabbits left alone in darkness become killer rabbits
- Cows on mycelium or near mushrooms turn into mooshrooms
- Bats gradually become vexes (be careful when exploring caves!)
Nether
- Skeletons in the Nether burn up and become wither skeletons (retaining their bow)
- Slimes that enter the Nether adapt to the heat and become magma cubes
CraftTweaker Support
The mod supports integration with CraftTweaker, allowing easy addition of custom transformations. Detailed information is available in the project wiki.
