Ancient Classes

About the Modification

This mod introduces a class system into the game based on classic gaming roles. You can start using the system through a special branch menu activated by pressing ALT + C.

For better visual experience, it's recommended to enable particles at least at reduced level.

Main Features

• Configurable balance for all branches through the ancientclasses-server.toml configuration file
• Ability to customize interface placement in ancientclasses-client.toml
• 5 unique classes, each with 5 abilities and their own signature weapons
• Dynamic in-game documentation using Patchouli
• Integration with popular mods: Create (chocolate berries), BYG (all berries), AppleSkin (stone passive ability), Optifine (additional item effects), Enchantment Descriptions (enchantment effects), Embeddium/Rubidium Dynamic Lights (lantern flail light properties)

Branch System

Classes are represented as development branches. After learning a branch from the main menu, it becomes locked for further changes.

You can reset a selected branch by drinking a mundane potion. Important to remember that this action will reset all progress in the current branch.

Ability Structure

Each branch includes 4 active abilities and 1 passive ability:

• Active abilities are activated using ALT+1,2,3,4 key combinations
• Passive ability strengthens depending on the overall branch level, which is the sum of all ability levels within the branch
• Each ability can be upgraded to level 3 using experience points

Resource System

Some branches use a new resource - Soul (also known as Mana). Soul can be restored in the following ways:

• Glow berries - restore 2 soul units
• Sweet berries - restore 1 soul unit
• Instant Soul (drinkable, splash, lingering potions and arrows)
• "Bone Branch Bargain" ability
• Soul stealing using sickles
• Killing mobs

Available Classes

Currently available are 5 development branches:

• Stone Branch: serves as a tank
• Diamond Branch: specializes in magic
• Bone Branch: acts as a healer
• Feather Branch: represents an archer
• Leaf Branch: embodies a druid
