Ancient Warfare 2: Tweaked

This is an unofficial update of the Ancient Warfare 2 mod for Minecraft version 1.12.2. The main changes focus on improving interactions with NPC factions, making them more realistic and engaging. Also included are bug fixes and various quality of life improvements.

All implemented changes can be disabled through configuration settings to restore behavior as in the original AW2, except for bug fixes.

Main Features

Faction Rivalry System: Killing NPCs of one faction increases your reputation with their enemies! Settings are fully configurable.

Stealth System: Sneaking movement, invisibility, and direct visibility affect whether enemies notice you.

Dialogue: NPCs speak when right-clicked! Each faction has unique lines, including separate dialogues for hostile states. All texts can be customized through the dialogue.json file.

Theft: You can now steal from NPC chests as long as no one sees you. Works in both friendly and enemy structures.

Demons: The previously unused demon faction now has its own structures that spawn in the lava seas of the Nether.

Mob Replacement System: If a structure contains mobs from missing mods, the game will attempt to replace them with configurable alternatives (in the original, zombies always appeared).

Combat NPCs can now use axes as weapons. Medics default to using apples for healing (configurable).

'awfaction add' command now works correctly, allowing configuration of player relations with factions through commands.

Shift-click to trade entire stacks of items with NPCs.

Changes and Adjustments

Many factions that were hostile in the base AW2 version are now neutral by default: Empire, Norska, Sarkonids, Buffloka, and Zimba. This can be changed through registry editing.

Updated loot tables: many factions received unique tables instead of generic ones.

Parasites from Scape and Run Parasites and Zotzpyres from BetterAnimalsPlus have been added to the default target list, so NPCs from most factions will attack them on sight. Nymphs from Lycanite Mobs have been removed from this list.

Removed some useless structures without mobs or loot (such as simple ruins on beaches).

Dwarves now spawn in mountains and foothills from Biomes O' Plenty.

Structures dependent on other mods are disabled when those mods are missing.

Orcs remain hostile, but killing them increases reputation (after defeating enough orcs, they respect you as a warrior).

The huge Volcano Island structure no longer contains hundreds of coal blocks (too unbalanced for survival) - they are replaced with obsidian.

Fixed water flow issues in some structures.

Added mobs from Unseen's Nether Backport to the target list.

Configuration Settings

Full customization of the faction rivalry system: which factions become friendly when others are killed, reputation change amounts, displaying changes in chat.

Configuration of medic items - you can specify any item IDs, including modded ones.

Capturing structures even with enemies present: by default, you can capture a structure if 5 or fewer enemies remain (elites count as 2, bosses as 5). Option for remaining enemies to flee upon capture (enabled by default).

Changing the attack range of NPCs with melee weapons.

Option for player-owned combat NPCs to not require food.

Preservation of player-owned NPC inventory after death.

Separate stealth multipliers for invisibility, sneaking, and cover.

Limiting structure generation by distance from spawn point (configurable per mod).

Demon immunity to fire and lava (enabled by default).

Adjusting block mining difficulty in NPC structures or completely disabling the penalty.

Allowing players to open chests without needing to capture the structure or steal.

Highlighting time for enemies preventing chest opening or structure capture increased to 5 minutes (configurable).

Configuration of battering ram damage and durability of vehicle upgrades and armor.

Bug Fixes

Fixed loot table for elite archers.

Resolved possible NullPointerException during structure generation that caused random crashes.

Fixed "zawa tannery: no such item, crocodile_leather" error by replacing with correct item ZAWA Reptile Hide.

Fixed attack speed of quills.

Resolved structure ID conflicts.

Replaced mobs from Cursed Mobs (abandoned mod) in all AW2 structures.

Fixed issue with turrets jerking 90 degrees.

NPCs now obey movement commands without getting distracted.

Errors when loading incorrect structure files are now logged instead of crashing the game.

Faction archers now use the correct attack distance value from configuration.

Block drops from quarries now respect blockHarvesting events, allowing compatibility with mods like Dropt.

If you believe a specific structure should be removed from the mod, report its internal name. You can find it by being inside the structure and using the "/awstructure name" command.
