Animania Base

Compatibility: Minecraft Forge versions 1.10.x, 1.11.x, and 1.12.x

Important Update: Starting from version 2.0.0, Animania has been split into additional modules! To get the animals that were previously available, you need to install Farm Addon and Extra Addon. All configuration files require regeneration.

Mandatory Requirement: All versions of Animania now require installation of the Craft Studio API mod.

What is Animania?

Animania is a comprehensive modification package that completely transforms passive animals in Minecraft. The mod replaces standard animals with enhanced versions featuring multiple breeds, realistic gender differences, new behavioral patterns, and additional animal species.

Animal Behavior Features

Animals require constant access to food and water to maintain good mood. Some species, such as pigs, need special entertainment (like mud baths). When attacked, some animals run away in panic, while others (like bulls) may counterattack.

Lack of nutrition and water leads to deterioration of animal condition: they become weaker, make fewer sounds, and emit smoke particles. Breeding and obtaining valuable resources only occur when animals are in good mood, motivating players to care for their pets.

Animals can be fed and watered through troughs, open water sources, or manually using water buckets. Animals eagerly eat their favorite treats and drink from buckets.

Information System

In versions 1.11 and 1.12, integration with WAILA and TOP mods is available, displaying additional information about animals and blocks when pressing the Sneak key. Shows hunger status, thirst, pregnancy, readiness for shearing, milking, and other useful information.

Animal Interaction

New animals are found in various biomes corresponding to their species and breeds. Animania is fully compatible with Biome Dictionary and mods like Biomes O' Plenty.

To tame animals, simply feed them their favorite food. Achievements are provided for each breed. New species and breeds are constantly being added to the game.

All animals can be led with leashes (recipe included in the mod). There is also the ability to name animals using special tags (recipe: string + gold nugget).

Equipment and Items

Troughs

Troughs can contain water, pig slop, or wheat. In versions 1.11 and 1.12, corn from Simple Corn, barley and oats from HarvestCraft are also supported. Troughs are configurable to work with any items from other mods.

Items can be placed in troughs manually or thrown into them. All animals can drink from troughs, and pigs, cows, horses, sheep, and goats can also eat from them. Troughs are compatible with droppers and comparators for automation.

Nests

Nests are designed for chickens to lay eggs. Made from 1 wool, 1 stick, and leaves. Chickens only lay eggs when in good mood.

Mud

Mud is created from 1 dirt block and a water bucket. For maximum pig enjoyment, mud pits of at least 2×3 blocks are recommended.

Pig Slop

Pig slop is prepared from a bucket of milk and any two ingredients: bread, potatoes, carrots, or beets.

Salt and Salt Licks

Salt licks are placed near animals to heal them when not at full health. Work with cows, horses, sheep, pigs, and goats.

Salt is created by evaporating water from a bucket in a cheese mold (available only with Farm addon installed).

Leashes

All Animania animals can use leashes. Convenient for temporarily tying animals to posts.

Name Tags

Simple recipe for creating name tags to track animals. With WAILA installed, you can see names of parents and partners.
