Apothic Enchanting
Apothic Enchanting represents the enchanting module within the Apotheosis project, which completely overhauls Minecraft's standard enchanting system. This mod introduces fundamental changes to the enchanting table mechanics, adds new types of enchantments, and provides useful tools to enhance gameplay.
Complete Enchanting System Overhaul
The main innovation of Apotheosis is the enchanting stats system. These are special parameters provided by bookshelves that affect the behavior of the enchanting table. There are three primary stats and several secondary ones. The maximum enchanting table level is increased to 100, and the cap levels for most enchantments are automatically raised.
Primary Stats
When working with the enchanting table, the three key parameters are most important:
- Eterna - determines enchanting strength, increasing level costs
- Quanta - controls randomness, regulating the degree of luck influence on results
- Arcana - enhances mystical quality, increasing the number of received enchantments and making rare enchantments more accessible
These stats form the foundation of a deep and thoughtful enchanting system, unlike the simple vanilla mechanics.

Secondary Stats
In addition to primary parameters, there are auxiliary stats that finely tune the enchanting process:
- Enchanting Clues - increase the number of displayed enchantments when hovering over a slot in the enchanting table
- Quantic Stability - guarantees that the Quanta parameter will only provide benefits, excluding negative effects
- Allowing Treasure - enables treasure enchantments (such as Mending) to appear, but be careful - curses also belong to this category!
- Enchantment Filters - allow excluding specific enchantments from the available list
Bookshelves and Their Role
The primary method of obtaining stats is through bookshelves. Each shelf placed in a valid position contributes to the enchanting table's operation. There are 32 valid positions total: the ring around the table (including corners) at the same level and one level above. An air block must exist between the enchanting table and the shelf.
Blocks that provide enchanting stats display this information in the item tooltip:

Some blocks can provide stats dynamically - for example, candles can be stacked (up to 4 in one block), increasing the Arcana parameter.
Most blocks have a maximum Eterna value - the limit they can contribute before their bonus stops being counted. A step-ladder calculation system is used, where blocks with the lowest maximum are counted first.
For example, 15 bookshelves (maximum 30) will provide 30 Eterna. Adding another shelf won't change this value, but installing a Hellshelf (maximum 45) will increase it to 33.

Configuration and Customization
Enchanting stats for any block can be configured through datapacks. This functionality also allows adding stats to blocks from other mods. Apothic Enchanting includes an API that enables mods to provide dynamic stats for specific blocks.
Useful Tools
Apotheosis adds various tools that make the enchanting process more convenient and controllable.
Tomes
Special books that can be enchanted but only accept enchantments for specific item types. There are nine tomes total: for helmets, chestplates, leggings, boots, swords, bows, pickaxes, fishing rods, and a universal tome for other enchantments.
Besides enchantable tomes, there are the Tome of Scrapping and its upgraded version - the Tome of Extraction. These tools allow removing enchantments from items, though the process involves losses when using basic versions.

Experience System
Apotheosis standardizes experience costs for both the enchanting table and anvil. When working with these stations, only the "real" amount of experience is deducted, not levels from your current level, eliminating the need for experience micromanagement.
Enchantment Library
The Library is the perfect solution for storing enchantments. No more storing enchanted books in chests or cluttering AE2 systems. The Library allows storing all your enchanted books in one place, searching through them, and extracting only the needed enchantments.
The system uses points as a data storage means - the number of "level one equivalents" that make up a given enchantment level. Level 1 costs one point, level 2 costs two points, level 3 costs four points.
To interact with the library, simply insert enchanted books into the blue slot for storage. To extract enchantments, left-click on the slot for a specific enchantment. Shift+left-click extracts the maximum available level.

New Enchantments
Apotheosis also adds various new enchantments for different tools that integrate well with vanilla gameplay. Detailed information about them can be found in the Chronicle of Shadows in-game.
Dependencies
Apothic Enchanting requires Placebo and Apothic Attributes to function. It's also recommended to install Enchantment Descriptions, Just Enough Items, and Jade for additional information. To view the Chronicle of Shadows, Patchouli must be installed.
