Archaeology Banners
The Archaeology Banners mod introduces 20 completely new banner patterns inspired by the pottery sherds added in the Trails and Tales update. These patterns can be crafted by combining a pottery sherd and paper on a crafting table. Additionally, wandering traders occasionally offer these patterns in exchange for emeralds.
All new patterns function exactly like standard Minecraft patterns—simply place them in a loom along with a banner and dye.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use the mod in older Minecraft versions that don't have pottery sherds?
Yes, it's possible! Although pottery sherds are not available in earlier versions of the game, I wanted to make the patterns accessible to players who cannot update. In such versions, patterns can only be obtained through trading with wandering traders.
Can I configure the wandering trader trades?
Of course! Using the archaeologybanners.json file in the config folder, you can configure the new trades added by the mod. The configuration allows you to disable specific trades or change their cost and other parameters. A game restart is required for changes to take effect. Note: To generate the configuration file, you need to run the game with the mod installed at least once.
How do I apply multicolour patterns?
Some patterns, such as the sniffer pattern, offer multiple options in the loom. Each option corresponds to a different part of the base texture that can be colored individually. For example, you can color the sniffer's body, shell, and nose in different colors. Each subvariant is considered an independent and additional layer of the pattern. Every pattern also includes a standard single-color variant, which is displayed first in the loom.
