Armor Restitched
Armor Restitched is a comprehensive mod that completely reworks the armor system in Minecraft, making it more in-depth and diverse. The mod adds new armor types, changes damage and protection mechanics, and expands the functionality of decorative armor trims.
New Armor Types
Forget the standard path from leather to iron armor! Now you have many alternative options for early game:
- Copper Armor — reduces lightning damage
- Cotton Armor — light and accessible protection
- Fur Armor — warm and durable
- Linen Armor — practical choice
- Silk Armor — elegant and functional
- Wool Armor — cozy protection
- Paper Armor — unexpected but useful option

Changes in Armor Mechanics
The protection system has been completely revised for greater realism and balance:
Armor Points — armor can now fully absorb incoming damage, and each armor point has become more effective.
Armor Toughness — metal armor received increased toughness values.
Knockback Resistance — metal armor provides better protection against knockback.
Protection Enchantments — Protection IV now reduces damage by 70%. Protection and Projectile Protection are compatible with other protection types, reaching maximum damage reduction of 90%. Blast Protection and Fire Protection remain mutually exclusive.
Elytra — now provide +1 armor point and can be enchanted with protection spells.
Thorns — became an exclusive treasure enchantment for chestplates, and thorn damage scales based on received damage.
Swift Sneak — now available from librarian villagers.
Frost Walker — extinguishes fire, cools lava, and works when riding vehicles.
New Treasure Enchantments
- Impact Protection — helmet enchantment that reduces damage from wall collisions and falling anvils/stalactites
- Soaring — elytra enchantment unavailable from traders. Increases flight speed, scales by levels. Can be found in special chests or crafted using a special recipe
Fabric Blocks and Materials
Various fabrics have been added for creating new armor:
- Cotton — grown from seeds of wild cotton plants in jungles. Requires scutcher for processing
- Fur — dropped by certain mobs upon death
- Linen — grown from seeds of wild flax in temperate biomes. Requires scutcher
- Silk — obtained by boiling silkworm cocoons in a cauldron over a campfire. Cocoons are found on mulberry trees in dark forests

Scutchers — special blocks for processing flax stems and cotton into usable materials.
Expansion of Trim Functionality
Decorative armor trims now serve practical functions:
- Amethyst — upon taking damage, emits a chime giving brief regeneration to the wearer and allies. Hostile mobs temporarily stop attacking
- Copper — reduces lightning damage. After being struck by lightning, the wearer receives positive effects
- Diamond — increases armor toughness
- Emerald — enhances villager reputation modifiers
- Gold — increases item enchantability
- Iron — 25% chance to not take durability damage
- Lapis — increases experience gained and reduces Mending cost
- Netherite — increases knockback resistance. Returns netherite scraps when burned
- Quartz — gives positive effects under low light conditions
- Redstone — increases effect duration. Gives additional effects when in contact with redstone
Elytra can now be trimmed, receiving additional bonuses to protection and toughness.
