Armory - Armoring the World

What Armory Mod Offers

Armory is an evolving mod for Minecraft versions 1.9.4 and 1.10 that brings your dreams of creating unique armor to life. The mod is actively under development but already offers many interesting features.

Armor Tier System

When you first entered this amazing world, you discovered that heated metals can be transformed into rings and chains. After experimenting with various metals and observing their behavior when used as tools, you realized that these metal rings and chains could protect your precious life from the dangers of this new world.

While wandering the world, you find various book fragments that make you wonder: is there another use for your valuable metals? You begin experimenting with forging and discover that you can create materials capable of storing and controlling significant amounts of energy. But how to use this energy?

You find that some materials mined from your mines and crafted into useful tools can utilize the energy from your new armor and provide you with benefits. Although the armor has become less durable, it compensates by assisting in your daily activities in the blocky world.

During your travels, you notice creatures wearing similar armor... but their armor uses not coal or fuel energy like yours, but magical energy from the air, ground, and all surrounding objects! How is this possible?

After discovering additional research fragments, you finally manage to harness the power of crystals you tried to install on your armor several weeks ago. This breakthrough may grant access to incredible power you never even dreamed of.

Why is the Mod Still in Development?

Although most of the code and logic for the first two tiers is ready (the quantum tier remains a secret project), I'm not very skilled at creating textures and models. I hope to find someone in the community who can help with this task. After resolving texture issues, a release will follow containing the first two tiers and an incomplete crafting system.

First Armor Tier

This is what the first tier looks like: Iron medieval armors Iron medieval set (without upgrades), upgraded iron set (with obsidian upgrades), and obsidian set.

Armor sets as items Armor sets in item form.

The basic crafting mechanics use the forge to heat metals: Forge with temperature display

And the blacksmith's anvil to craft required products from hot metals: Crafting with the blacksmith's anvil

JEI Support

JEI crafting handler supports you all the way: NEI handler for blacksmith's anvil

What's Still Planned?

Although it seems like there's still much work ahead, most of the logic is already implemented, and it remains only to link new textures with blocks and items in the game:

  • Creating a web page for Armory with an auto-build system
  • Implementing the quantum tier
  • Setting up an official wiki for the project
  • Adding compatibility with other mods

Requirements

  • Minecraft 1.9.4
  • Minecraft Forge for 1.9.4
  • SmithsCore for 1.9.4

How to Start Using the Mod

  1. Craft a blacksmith's hammer in a regular workbench
  2. Right-click the center block of one of the four horizontal sides of a 3x3x3 cobblestone boulder
  3. Create a fireplace for yourself (use JEI to find recipes)
  4. Start heating your metal (and cook food)
  5. Continue creating armor
  6. Can't heat metal enough? Craft a forge

About Different Anvils

No differences for now - in the future, anvils will take damage like a regular anvil and eventually break. Currently, you can use the stone anvil created from the boulder indefinitely.
