Ars Magica: Legacy

A Fresh Perspective on Magic in Minecraft

Ars Magica: Legacy is an adapted version of the classic Ars Magica 2 mod by Mithion for Minecraft versions 1.18.1 and above. This project offers players a completely new approach to spell creation that can be used for various purposes: character enhancement, tool replacement, combat against mobs, and much more.

Currently, the mod is in active development, so some features may not yet be implemented or may work unstably.

Getting Started

For Versions 1.19 and Above

In plains and similar biomes, you can occasionally find puddles of Liquid Essence. Create an Arcane Compendium by combining a book and a bucket of Liquid Essence. This guide will help you master all the mod's capabilities.

For Versions 1.18 and Below

In underground areas, you'll find various ores added by this mod. The most common is Vinteum Ore. Create an Arcane Compendium using a book and Vinteum Dust to access detailed instructions.

Planned Updates

Future versions plan to add numerous blocks and items from the original mod.

Dependencies and Compatibility

For in-game documentation to work, Patchouli mod version 1.18-58 or newer is required. Starting from version 1.2.0, GeckoLib is also necessary.

The mod has optional integration with JEI, Curios, and The One Probe.

Incompatible with OptiFine and most similar mods due to rendering system conflicts.

Issues and Crashes

If crashes occur during startup, check for all dependencies in correct versions and Forge version currency. If the problem persists, check compatibility with other mods by temporarily removing them and adding back one by one.

Modpacks

Allowed for use in modpacks under conditions: providing a link to the mod page, free access to the modpack (donations acceptable), crediting Minecraftschurli as author, and no claims of creating the mod.

Fabric

Currently, Fabric support is not provided. If interested in porting the mod to Fabric, contact the developers via Discord.
