Atlas

Atlas is a world generator that operates based on images and data. Simply provide the mod with a heightmap and biome distribution image, and you can integrate them into a dimension via datapack!
Usage Instructions
Create or find a grayscale heightmap. Save it in PNG format with 8 bits per channel and RGBA encoding. The image should be located in a datapack — see the example below for more details.

Create a copy of the image and color it with any colors of your choice. Each color corresponds to a specific biome. Do not mix or blend colors. Save this image with the same encoding to your datapack (see GitHub for details).

Create a datapack and place the dimension file as usual. An example dimension file along with parameter explanations can be found here.
Load the world! If something goes wrong, a datapack error will appear in your logs.

Useful Tips:
- When drawing biomes, it may be helpful to view the heightmap as a contour map. You can emulate this in your photo editor by selecting a black pixel and using "select by color" with varying thresholds to get contour lines of your map.
- If your maps are different sizes, there may be void areas mapped to biomes or terrain areas with the default biome. You can use this to save time!
- Your map will be centered at coordinates 0,0. The top of the image is north. If the map has an odd number of pixels, the last pixel on the southern and/or eastern side will be cut off.
- If
starting_yin your dimension is less than the dimension'smin_y, you can create void areas. Use this to create non-rectangular maps! - Anything outside the world will be void, but some hardcoded structures may still spawn depending on the features of your default biome.
