Atmosfera
Atmosfera is a client-side ambient sound system for Minecraft Fabric that completely transforms the game's audio experience with customizable resources.
Installation and Compatibility
To use the mod, you'll need to install Fabric Loader, Fabric API, Cloth Config API, and possibly Mod Menu. After installation, be sure to activate the built-in or your custom Atmosfera resource pack!
For maximum immersion, it's recommended to use the Presence Footsteps mod, which will complement the sound palette. Using Atmosfera simultaneously with other ambient sound mods or data packs is not recommended due to potential soundscape conflicts.
System Features
The system operates exclusively on the client side, allowing it to be used even on vanilla servers. Atmosfera creates a dynamic 2D sound environment that changes based on multiple factors around the player:
- Dimension and height above ground
- Percentage of biomes and blocks
- Sky visibility and time of day
- Weather conditions (rain, storm)
- Submersion in fluid
All sound transitions are executed smoothly using looped playback. Volume and subtitle settings are available through Cloth Config API both with and without Mod Menu.
Supported Mods
Atmosfera is compatible with numerous popular world generation mods:
