Bacchanalian Mobs is a complex, advanced approach to the topic of mobs and fighting them. This mod is created with the expectation of being better than existing mods of a similar genre.

 

List of features:

- "Dynamic Difficulty" system: Used as a condition and as a multiplier for many features in the mod. Points increase or decrease over time, depending on the player's actions and the strength of their equipment.
- Customizable equipment and potion effects that mobs will have when they spawn.
- Mobs can increase their HP, and the player can too.
- Apply multipliers to the damage that mob "A" deals to mob "B"; Apply multipliers to the damage that mob "A" takes from damage source "X".
- Set up the consequences (damage, damage bypassing armor, potion effects) that will happen during offense (mob attacks player) and defense (player attacks mob).
- "Features" module: A set of individual AI tasks and behavior tweaks. For example: Mobs can ride a horse, make a long leap, run away from TNT explosions; Creepers can breach a wall on their way to the player; Spiders leave a web behind them and try to entangle their target with a web.
- Sight module: Mobs can get two X-Ray modes. "Exact" mode - regular X-Ray; "Cached" mode - mob gets the position the player was standing at at one point in time, and updates the position again when it sees the player has already left that position.
- Reaching System: If a mob can't reach the player, the mob will do one of the following: Summon a parrot as a flying transport; Jump over a pit; Start breaking a pillar (if the player built a pillar out of blocks to avoid danger).
- Lords Module: Few mobs can become Lords. Lords have a set of stat buffs and a set of behavior abilities. Abilities greatly change the behavior of the mob, forcing the player to use different combat tactics.
- Every 3 days, at night, a raid will occur. During the raid, single mobs will spawn at a random point around the player, and, having an X-Ray, go to the player! Raid mobs may differ in their characteristics from mobs from natural spawn.

 

Bacchanalian Mobs provides a very detailed config. You can configure literally anything! You can add a Condition to any feature from the mod (only certain dimensions, biomes, range of Y-coordinates, SRParasites evolution phases, player time spent in the game, Dynamic Difficulty points, player game stages) to selectively apply them. The "Mob List" system allows you to conveniently apply features only to selected mobs, without having to manually copy the text many times.
The content is divided into Modules. Each Module can be globally disabled.
However, the configs are TOO detailed, and the average player may have a hard time understanding them.

 

Integrations and dependencies:

The mod supports integrations with: Scape and Run: Parasites, Techguns, Game Stages, Better Player Respawn. (You can find links to these mods in the "Relations" section)
You can use MixinBooter to access one tweak: change immunity frames for SRParasites.
I highly recommend installing the Custom Nausea mod. Some features from Bacchanalian Mobs apply the nausea effect. By default, it is implemented very poorly, and this mod will improve it.

 

At the moment, this mod is WIP (Work In Progress). I need your bug reports (especially non-standard situations in conjunction with other mods). Also, I will listen to your advice, and add to the mod those of them that I liked.

 

This mod remains on 1.12.2. Any requests to move it to another version will be ignored.
