Balanced Inventory
Balanced Inventory addresses the inventory space limitations in Minecraft through a balanced approach that maintains the original game's spirit while incorporating quality-of-life improvements for players.
Key Features
The mod expands available item storage with 24 additional slots, including 6 slots dedicated to an extended hotbar. It's important to note that the extended hotbar is designed exclusively for equipment - items that can sustain damage during use.
Client Configuration Settings
Client parameters are adjusted via the balancedinventory-client.json file:
showToolHotbar: displays the additional hotbar on the HUD (default:true)scrollToToolHotbar: enables access to the extended hotbar using the scroll wheel (default:true)autoSelectTools: automatically selects the most suitable tool when mining resources (default:false)autoReturnOnUse: returns to the last selected main hotbar slot when using an item (default:false)autoReturnAfterCooldown: returns to the last selected slot after a cooldown period (default:false)autoReturnCooldown: number of ticks before returning to the selected slot (default:40)
Client settings can be modified through the Mod Menu interface.
Server Configuration
The server configuration file is named balancedinventory.json:
restrictExtendedInventoryToEquipment: limits extended inventory content to equipment only, while the hotbar remains unaffected (default:false)
Note: Client configuration does not apply on servers, but configuration mismatches may cause visual inconsistencies on the client side.
Requirements
Cloth Config API is required for the mod to function. Mod Menu is recommended for client-side configuration management.
Important Notes
This mod is in alpha testing stage! While using it, there's a minor risk of item duplication glitches or item loss. Any discovered issues and suggestions for improvements can be reported in the project's issue tracking system.
