Would you be a doll? - Transformation into a Doll

This mod offers a unique opportunity to transform into a small doll with many interesting features. Created specifically for role-playing enthusiasts and unusual game mechanics.

Doll Features

Dolls possess a number of unique characteristics:

• Miniature sizes - dolls are significantly smaller than regular players
• Communication features - dolls speak quietly, and their messages are only heard nearby (similar to mixed team system with proximity chat)
• Appearance changes - can change outfits and appearance
• Different materials - three types of materials available for doll creation
• Shoulder travel - using a ribbon, the doll can be attached to another player's shoulder (Shift+RMB with ribbon to remove doll)
• Riding - dolls can ride on tamed creatures of sufficient size
• Name changing - can rename the doll using a name tag directly in the world (visible in F5 mode, resets when returning to normal form)
• Self-renaming - dolls can change their own name by throwing the name tag upward
• Elemental protection - immunity to drowning and freezing
• Special nourishment - instead of food, dolls need repairs using special items and materials

There are also two potion effects in the mod - one has an obvious effect, and the other increases damage taken.

How to Become a Doll

To transform into a doll, you need to create one of three special tools:

• Carving knife - similar to an iron sword but made from iron nuggets
• Modeling tool - improved version of carving knife with additional nuggets
• Sewing needle - resembles a fishing rod without line, created from iron nuggets
• Flush cutter - cross-shaped structure of sticks with iron nuggets
• Watchmaker's screwdriver - stick with iron nugget above and to the right

After creating the tool, collect a fragment of your essence (works like a bundle - RMB on your portrait in inventory) and combine it with the tool in crafting table. Then return the obtained essence back (LMB on portrait) - and you've become a doll!

To return to normal form, perform the same procedure but use a pickaxe instead of doll creation tool.

Interaction with Other Players

Other players can interact with your doll like an armor stand when crouching. If they create a ribbon (four strings around a stick), they can tie you to their shoulder! (RMB on doll to attach, Shift+RMB to detach)

As a doll, for other players to hear you in chat, you'll need to SPEAK UP. You can bypass this system by putting \ before your message, but that's less interesting. This feature can also be modified or disabled in settings.

Settings and Tweaks

When launching with the mod, a configuration file is created at <minecraft folder>/config/be_a_doll.toml that allows customizing chat features for dolls.

You can also modify tags:

.../tags/item/<material>_doll_care_materials - determines which items can be used for caring for dolls of specific material

.../tags/damage_type/doll_immune - makes dolls immune to certain damage types (default - freezing and drowning)

.../tags/damage_type/doll_modifies_message - adds new death message translation keys for dolls with specific damage types
