Beddium
Beddium is an open-source terrain renderer built on the Celeritas Core API. This mod represents a long-awaited solution for fast chunk rendering on screen, offering higher speed, improved quality, and unprecedented compatibility compared to existing alternatives.
Enjoy smooth gameplay with minimal lag, expand your view with increased render distance, and get stable performance where other solutions fail. The mod replaces the outdated call-list based chunk rendering system (1993 technology) with a modern approach utilizing the capabilities of OpenGL 3.3 and above.
Compatibility
Beddium is compatible with most popular client-side optimization and graphics mods, including:
- FalseTweaks
- SwanSong
- Right Proper Lighting Engine
- Right Proper MCPatcher
- HodgePodge
- FastCraft
- CoreTweaks
- ArchaicFix
- BugTorch
- NotFine
Expected incompatibilities are observed with the following mods:
- OptiFine (any version)
- Original ShadersMod
- MCPatcher: Forge
- Neodymium (performs similar functions)
- Angelica (may work with certain modules)
Technical Features
The mod is based on the reference implementation of Celeritas for version 1.7.10 with a focus on the terrain renderer. Additional features such as general improvements to entity rendering or ambient occlusion tweaks are not currently planned for implementation. For threaded rendering support, FalseTweaks installation is required.
