Bedrock Ores - Ore Veins in Bedrock
The Bedrock Ores modification offers a completely new approach to resource extraction in Minecraft. Instead of traditional ore blocks, it adds special ore clusters that are embedded directly into the bedrock - the lowest layer of the world.
These unique ore formations work in a special way: when mined, they don't break completely but gradually deplete. Each time you extract a resource, the block yields the corresponding ore while reducing its overall reserve. When the deposit is completely exhausted, the block turns into regular bedrock.
To automate the mining process, the mod includes a special device - the Bedrock Miner. This machine independently extracts ore from bedrock in a 5×3×5 block area beneath it. It requires energy to operate, which can be obtained in two ways: by burning fuel (such as coal) or by connecting to an external Forge Energy source. All mined resources are automatically transferred to an inventory located above the miner. It's important to note that the device stops working if there's nowhere to store the extracted ore.
It's worth emphasizing that the mod doesn't create new types of ores but uses those already existing in the game. It's compatible with almost all ores that don't use block entities. Bedrock ores simply wrap the state of regular ore blocks and redirect relevant calls, including mining feasibility checks.
Bedrock ore generation is managed by the standard world generation system. The mod adds one new feature that replaces regular bedrock with bedrock containing ore inclusions. The default configuration provides for the generation of vanilla Minecraft ores in the bedrock of the regular world.
