Berk Origins
This project is a datapack for the Origins mod, packaged as a full-fledged mod, originally created to work with modifications such as Isle of Berk, Archipelago Additions, IOB Variant Loader, and Stego's Dragons.
Required Dependencies
The following mods are required for proper functionality:
- Apathy (requires special configuration for passive dragons in the Dragonguard origin)
- Isle of Berk Variant Loader
- Archipelago Additions
- Isle of Berk
- Origins
- Stego's Dragons
Origins System
The mod adds 5 unique origins with special abilities:
Farlander - a character without a tribe, created for those who want to play as original characters from the "How to Train Your Dragon" universe
Berserker - a member of the Berserker tribe. Keeps weapons upon death and enters rage mode when health drops below 50%
Berk Rioter - a former member of the Hooligan tribe who left Hiccup's side after the events of "The Hidden World". Increases the speed of rideable dragons
Dragonguard - defender of the wing. Dragons become passive, no special effects are required to tame them, but they fly slower
Dragon Hunter - dragon hunter. The player starts with a hunter's bow, dragonproof plate leggings, a snow wraith tooth, and receives 2 poisonous arrows daily upon waking up. Some adult dragons become untamable, all dragon hunters become passive
Enhanced Dragon System
Personality Traits
Dragons receive unique personality traits:
- Carefree - lower health but poison resistance
- Clumsy - additional knockback when attacking mobs
- Fervent - sets enemies on fire when biting
- Healthy - additional health
- Like Liquid - becomes invisible in water
- Simpleton - no additional bonuses
- Algae Eater - glows like a flightmare
- Stalker - becomes invisible at night when ridden by player
Use an amethyst shard to determine your dragon's trait.

Hunger and Mood System
Dragon hunger is restored with cod, salmon, and tropical fish. At zero hunger, the dragon takes no damage but its mood level begins to decrease.
Mood is restored with dragon nip:
- Above 75% - the dragon is happy and flies faster
- Below 25% - flies slower
Mood indicators:
- Black ash - sad dragon (mood <25%)
- Green particles - normal mood (>50%)
- Golden particles - happy dragon

Additional Features
Animal Management
Use the G key (primary active key for Origins, configurable) to drop animals from the dragon's back.
Unique Behavior
Tamed stingers can run on top of water!
Tidal class dragons swim underwater as easily as they fly in the air.
Glowing Dragons
Flightmares and fireworms now glow in the dark.

Some dragon species can be painted using vanilla Minecraft dyes (except gray and light gray). Night Fury cannot be painted with black dye.
