Beta Hunger System
This datapack completely reworks the hunger system in Minecraft, returning it to the principles of operation from beta versions and earlier game releases. Instead of the familiar hunger bar, food now directly restores the character's health. This means you'll need to eat only when you've taken damage, rather than at regular intervals.
The amount of health restored when consuming food corresponds to standard saturation values in regular survival, but with some changes. For example, rotten flesh restores only half a heart, golden apples give 8 hearts, and enchanted golden apples restore a full 10 hearts.
Although the system is based on the beta version, some modern features are preserved here: standard stack sizes for all food items, food consumption time as in current game versions, and the ability to always sprint. If desired, sprinting can be disabled by executing the command /function beta_hunger:toggle_sprint
.
All additional effects from food, such as the properties of golden apples, spider eyes, and chorus fruits, continue to work, although the hunger effect no longer affects gameplay.
