Better Enchantment Tooltips

This mod significantly enhances tooltips for enchanted books and items. Under each enchantment, icons of items to which it can be applied are displayed. Optional alphabetical sorting of enchantments with curses at the end of the list is also available.

The mod allows displaying the maximum enchantment level, and when the Shift key is held down, a brief description of the enchantment effect is shown. All these functions are fully customizable to your preferences.

For optimal performance, it is recommended to use the mod together with Clear Enchanted Books for improved enchanted book textures.

Compatibility and Settings

The mod works only on the client side and requires installation of Fabric API and Cloth Config API. Integration with ModMenu is optional.

If you are a mod developer with custom enchantments and want their descriptions to appear in tooltips, add the key "enchantment.betterbooks." to the language file. For custom items that accept enchantments, there is also the possibility to configure the display of corresponding icons.

Update History

Version 1.0.3 added brief descriptions of enchantment effects, activated by the Shift key. Version 1.0.2 fixed compatibility issues with the AppleSkin mod. Version 1.0.1 introduced: alphabetical sorting with curses placed at the bottom, display of maximum enchantment level, removal of glint, and integration with ModMenu for in-game configuration. The mod was developed and tested for Minecraft versions from 1.21.4 to 1.21.7.
