Cave Maps (Better Nether Map Port)
With this modification, map functionality extends to underground dimensions. Three main operation modes are configurable through settings.
Mapping Modes
FIXED MODE: Each dimension has a preset (configurable) Y level to which all maps created within it are bound.
SNAPPING MODE: For each dimension, a list of configurable Y values is set. A new map will automatically snap to the closest available altitude level.
VARIABLE MODE: Maps display the exact Y level at which they were created. Provides more freedom, but created maps will align less with each other. It's possible to set a minimum level for each dimension and configure altitude adjustment when creating a map.
Can't decide? Three separate map types are available, craftable from empty maps. Each corresponds to one of the mentioned modes, allowing you to set FIXED MODE as default for regular maps and additionally have maps with SNAPPING and VARIABLE modes.
Cave Maps (Version 1.18+)
In versions 1.18+ and newer, alternative map types can be used in the overworld for mapping dungeons. Standard maps continue to work normally.
Additional Features
There is an option to disable random rotation of the player location marker for navigation convenience.
This modification is a port of Jummit's original development for Forge users.
