Better Sprinting

Enhanced Movement Control

Better Sprinting mod completely transforms the character control system in Minecraft, offering extended capabilities for running, sneaking, and flying. This client-side mod works exclusively on the player's side and doesn't require server installation for basic functionality.

Main Features

Customize running to your preference: choose sprint activation mode - single press or key hold. No more constantly holding the button to maintain speed! Also available are toggles for continuous running and stealth movement.

Disable the annoying double-tap W for sprint activation - now you have full control over when your character accelerates. In singleplayer, gain the ability to run in all directions, not just forward.

For creative mode and spectator mode, adjustable flight speed is provided. You can continue flying even when touching the ground - perfect for building complex structures.

Simple Configuration

Open the mod configuration menu through the Better Sprinting button in control settings or press the configuration key in-game (default: 'O'). For Minecraft versions 1.13/1.14, update notification settings are located in the bettersprinting-client.toml file in the config folder.

Useful Tips

• Press the sprint key again while moving to stop
• When opening an interface during sneaking, the character automatically stands up
• In local network, running in all directions is possible if the host has the mod installed

Server Capabilities

Server administrators can use the /bettersprinting command to activate special functions or automatically disable the mod for players. For servers without Forge, server protocol documentation is available for creating custom plugins.

Installation

Client

1. Download and run the Forge installer
2. Select "Install client" and confirm
3. Launch Minecraft Launcher
4. Go to the "Installations" tab and select the Forge profile
5. Open the game folder and create a mods folder inside
6. Place the Better Sprinting file in the mods folder

Server

1. Download and run the Forge installer
2. Select "Install server", specify the installation folder
3. Create a mods folder in the server directory
4. Place Better Sprinting in the mods folder
5. Start the server via forge-.jar

Older Versions

Archive versions for Minecraft 1.2.5 - 1.8 are available in a special repository. When encountering conflicts with other mods, try installing PlayerAPI Core (only for versions 2.0.3 and older). In version 1.7.10, clients without Forge cannot connect to Forge servers.

License and Modpacks

Files released after June 12, 2019 are distributed under MPL-2.0 license, which permits their use in modpacks. To verify, open the .jar file with an archiver and ensure the LICENSE file contains the line "Mozilla Public License Version 2.0".
