Better Days - Time Control in Minecraft
Mod Overview
Better Days mod for Minecraft 1.19+ fundamentally changes the game's day cycle, making its duration customizable according to your preferences. If the standard 20 minutes seem too short or too long for you, this mod provides complete control over the time cycle.
Key Features
The main function of Better Days is complete replacement of the standard sleep system. Instead of an instant transition to morning, time smoothly accelerates while your character is in bed. In multiplayer mode, the speed of time passage depends on the number of sleeping players - the more people resting, the faster dawn arrives.
You can customize the duration of day and night independently of each other. Want game days to last like real 24 hours? Or prefer fast nights for more comfortable gameplay? Better Days allows you to implement any time preferences.
Additionally, the mod includes a system of time effects that synchronize various game processes with the current time speed. Among available options are acceleration of plant growth, weather changes, potion duration, furnace operation, and hoppers. Most of these effects are disabled by default and activated through settings.
Compatibility
Better Days works with the following mods:
- Homeostatic
- Ready Player Fun
- Comforts
- Sleep Warp (disables sleep system when installed)
- Sleep Tight (disables sleep system when installed)
- Fabric Seasons
- Serene Seasons
- Enhanced Celestials
- Quark (requires disabling Improved Sleeping module)
- Nomadic Tents
- The Hordes (requires setting hordeEventByPlayerTime = false)
- Immersive Snow (limited compatibility with seasonal mods)
Important Notes
Mods with sleep voting systems (Quark, Morpheus) conflict with Better Days. It's recommended to disable either their sleep functions or the corresponding option in Better Days via the enableSleepFeature parameter.
Currently, the mod only supports the overworld, however most dimensions (including custom ones) synchronize time with the main world.
Better Days doesn't save data to world files and can be safely removed at any time.
