Passion for book collecting — this is how the name of this modification is translated, which fully corresponds to its name.
Main Concept
This modification continues the development style of mowmaster, known for creating mods without a graphical interface. For Bibliomania to work, MowLib installation is required as a mandatory dependency.
At the very beginning of the game, you can create your first book using simple materials: flint, wood, stone, grass, and sugar cane. The book functions as a storage container but with a unique feature — it can contain up to 4 different types of items. The quality of materials used in creating the book directly affects its characteristics, including the maximum stack size of stored items.
Book Creation Process
Paper and Parchment Making
Paper:
- Fill a cauldron with water and place it over fire
- Add plant fibers
- Boil until the ingredients change state
- Stir until you get a white liquid
- Use a mold to get wet paper
- Place on a drying rack until completely dry
Parchment:
- Use animal hides instead of fibers
- After boiling, place on a work table
- Process the hides for drying preparation
- Dry on a special rack
Book Binding
Beginner Level: Create a book block from paper, binding threads, and two covers. Such a book will allow storing 4-8 pages with 4 items each — perfect for collecting seeds and various small items while exploring the world.
Advanced Level: Special workstations allow creating complex book structures. By combining quality materials and metal decorations, you can create books with 8 book blocks and up to 256 storage slots. Each slot can contain up to 64 items, providing a total capacity of 16,384 items!
Book Usage
Place the book on the ground — it will function as a pedestal, allowing you to add and extract items. Flip pages by clicking on the edges of the book to access all slots. Crouch and right-click to return the book to your inventory.
Placing the book on a lectern opens additional automation possibilities — special blocks will be able to automatically add and extract items.
Storage System
Book Cases allow compact storage of many books in one block, maintaining automation capabilities, although direct access to individual books will be limited.
Card Catalog — an intelligent search system that can be linked to book cases. Right-click an item on the catalog, and it will automatically find the first case containing that item.
Lecterns linked to catalogs gain access to all items in the selected case. You can browse the contents and manually interact with items, as when normally placing a book.
Special blocks with configurable patterns can automatically extract items from the system via a redstone signal, opening possibilities for complex automated crafting systems.
