BiomOre
The BiomOre modification radically changes the principle of ore vein generation in the game, making them much more substantial while distributing different types of ores depending on the specific biome.
The result is paradoxical: finding the needed ores becomes significantly more difficult, but the reward turns out to be impressive! The secret to success is exploring natural caves and canyons.
Biome-Based Ore Distribution
Each type of landscape is enriched with specific resources:
- Ocean: Large diamond clusters with emerald scatterings
- Plains: Richest coal and iron deposits
- Rivers: River beds are covered with iron, coal appears in large blocks
- Desert: Gold bearing veins with occasional redstone ore
- Mountain ranges: Here you'll find the most substantial coal and lapis deposits
- Forest and taiga territories: Exceptional blue diamonds and lapis
- Swamps: Sticky emerald blocks forming unique formations
- Mushroom islands: Real ore buffet with diverse resources
- Beaches: Harmonious mix of iron and gold deposits
- Jungles: Enlightened iron and diamond formations
- Savannas: Surface literally paved with lapis blocks with abundant redstone
- Mesa: Ancient fossil iron ore and redstone formations
Each biome may contain additional, less common types of ores, but those listed above dominate.
Development Plans
The developer is considering adding coal blocks, extremely rare netherite formations in the Nether, and occasional ancient debris outcrops on the surface.

Usage Instructions
Version 1.15.2
When creating a new world, open advanced settings and scroll to the "World Type: BiomOre" option, then explore the unique world with biome-based ore distribution.
Version 1.16.1 - 1.16.4
In game rules settings, scroll to the very bottom and activate the "Use BiomOre" rule. Like other game rules, this can be done in any world type.
Server-only (from 1.16.1)
Simply place BiomOre v0.3.3 / v0.4.1 in the mods folder, and the system will automatically activate generation. The useBiomore
rule is excluded since it cannot be set at the moment of initial world formation.
Download and Installation
- Go to the releases page on Github
- Find the latest version
- In the Assets section, select the .jar file
- Place the file in your Fabric Minecraft mods folder
Compatibility and Recommendations
The modification has been tested for compatibility with:
- Cave Biome mod
- BYG mod
Press F3 during gameplay to display information about ores that can be found in the current biome.
Operational Features
The modification does not guarantee compatibility with other world generation mods, especially if they alter ore vein generation algorithms.
The /function dev:dig
command (with cheats enabled) excavates an 18x18 block shaft to bedrock, which is useful for testing.
Do not experiment with loading a world created with BiomOre without this modification - vanilla or other generation methods could lead to save file corruption or game crashes.
