Minimap Waypoint on Map
The waypoint is displaying on the map. Waypoints do not currently render in-world, but this is on the roadmap for the future.
Add Waypoint Screen
You can add a waypoint anywhere in your world by hitting `N`, and edit them by hitting `shift + N`

You can change the Map Type, the visible layers, and also freely resize/reposition the minimap from the `shift + B` screen
