BlockCarpentry
A mod for Minecraft versions 1.15, 1.16, 1.17, 1.18, and 1.19 that serves as a modern equivalent of the famous "Carpenter's Blocks" mod by MinesHopper for version 1.7.10.
IMPORTANT: For versions 1.16-0.5.0, 1.18-0.4.0, 1.19.2-0.3.0.0 and all subsequent versions, the Patchouli mod is required.
Main Features
BlockCarpentry adds special frame blocks and illusion blocks to the game that can take on the texture of any block placed inside them. This functionality works with most vanilla Minecraft blocks as well as many blocks from other mods.
The mod includes various block types:
- Regular cubes
- Stairs and steps
- Slabs
- Doors and trapdoors
- Pressure plates and buttons
- Fences and gates
- Walls
- Beds and chests
- Glass panes
- Daylight detectors
- Layered blocks (similar to snow)
- Signs
- Sloped surfaces

Additional Features
Lighting
You can increase the light level of any block by right-clicking it with glowstone dust (increases by 3 levels) or coal/charcoal (increases by 1 level).

Overlays
Various overlays can be applied to frame blocks using:
- Grass (2 types of grass overlays)
- Snowballs (2 types of snow overlays)
- Vines (1 type of overlay)
- Gunpowder (5 types of brick overlays)

Coloring
Blocks with transparent elements (doors, trapdoors) and blocks with wool-like textures (beds) can be colored using regular dyes.

BlockCarpentry Tools
Hammer
Used to extract blocks from frames and illusions without breaking them. In the settings, you can enable an alternative extraction method - crouching and right-clicking with an empty hand.

Chisel
Allows selecting alternative designs for some blocks: doors, trapdoors, fences, gates, chests, beds, and walls.

Paintbrush
Some designs include additional elements like door handles. The paintbrush allows changing their color.

Texture Wrench
Used to switch between different block textures when a block has different textures on different sides.

Crafting
All recipes can be found in the vanilla recipe book or through JEI.
The main recipe is creating frames from eight scaffolding blocks:

Other blocks are then created from frames:

Excess items can be returned to the crafting grid to get the full amount of frames back.
Difference Between Illusion Blocks and Frame Blocks
Illusion blocks take the complete model of the block, maintaining the correct texture placement on corresponding sides. Frame blocks use one texture for all sides, which can be changed using the texture wrench.

Main Features in Brief
- Covering blocks with textures by simple right-clicking
- Switching between block textures using the texture wrench
- Selecting alternative designs with the chisel
- Changing the color of additional elements with the paintbrush
- Increasing light level with glowstone dust or coal
- Extracting blocks from frames with the hammer
- Coloring glass elements of doors, trapdoors, and beds
- Applying additional textures using special items

Notes
This mod was created as a successor to the famous Carpenter's Blocks by MinesHopper. Since the original mod is only available for Minecraft 1.6.4 and 1.7.10, BlockCarpentry was written completely from scratch, but the idea belongs to MinesHopper.
