Blocks You Need is a block collection inspired by classic mods like Chisel. Unlike many alternatives, BYN is specifically designed for survival gameplay, with each block having unique features that unfold during gameplay. New blocks appear in the world through various methods: as stone formations, geodes, biome features, or as new applications for existing materials.

The mod's main themes focus on Vanilla+, industrial, steampunk, and sci-fi styles. At the same time, you'll find numerous blocks perfect for magical constructions, along with various decorative elements to enhance your creations.

For comfortable gameplay, I strongly recommend installing JEI or EMI mods — all recipes and mechanics in Blocks You Need are designed with their use in mind.

Although the mod makes minor changes to world generation, it never adds anything that could fundamentally alter a seed. You can safely install it in an existing world — new blocks will appear in freshly generated chunks.

With each new version, the mod will be enriched with additional content! If you have ideas for new blocks or suggestions for improving existing ones — share them!

Found Bugs?

It's best to report bugs either through my Discord or via the issue tracking system on CurseForge. Remember that I work on the mod alone, so updates take time and may contain flaws. If you suggest something new or report a bug, give me a few weeks to work on it (unless I'm absent for medical reasons).
