BluDecorations
The BluDecorations mod emerged as a result of my first experience with 3D modeling in Blender and integrating created models into Minecraft. The main concept of the project is to provide players with a universal block and a set of tools for its complete customization.
Main Features
You get access to a configurable block that can be completely transformed: choose the model, texture, color, transparency, position in space, rotation, and even add particles. The mod comes with ready-made configuration presets that can be used as is or adapted to your needs.
This is just a small part of what can be created with this mod.
Working Tools
Model Wrench
This tool opens the model configuration interface. You can select ready-made models from the list, adjust their rotation, scale, lighting and display boundaries, as well as add new rendering elements to the current configuration.
Important Update: Starting from version 1.3.1 (for Minecraft 1.7.2) and 1.2.3 (for Minecraft 1.6.4), holding CTRL when selecting a preset adds it to the current configuration instead of replacing it. Also, the ability to save configurations locally has appeared - they are written to separate .cfg files and are available in all singleplayer worlds.
Particle Spraycan
A special tool for configuring particles emitted by the block. Works similarly to model configuration, but instead of rendering elements, it manages particles.
Adjustable Instructions
Allow copying configurations between blocks. Right-clicking a block saves its settings, clicking another block applies the saved configuration. Shift+right-click clears the instructions.
Infinity Binoculars
Clicking a block with this item enables infinite rendering boundaries - the block will always be displayed, even if its boundaries are not in the field of view. Note that this increases the load on the system.
Additional Functions
If you click on a block with a chest in your hand, the chest is integrated into the block, adding inventory functionality. Thus, your decorations can be not only beautiful but also useful.
Creating Custom Models
For advanced users, the mod opens up possibilities for adding custom models. You can create an addon for the mod or use a custom resource pack. Models must be in OBJ format with certain requirements:
- Either only triangular or only rectangular faces
- Model part names should not contain dots
- Avoid "fake" faces made of two vertices
