Book Wyrms - Enchanted Book Recycling

Book Wyrms mod adds special lizards of various colors to forest biomes. These creatures can become a source of valuable meat and multi-colored scales. Regular books are sufficient for breeding book wyrms, but their main feature is the ability to recycle unwanted enchanted books into new random enchantments.

Color Varieties

There are 7 color types of book wyrms, each specializing in specific enchantment types:

• Gray - most common, can create any type of enchantments
• Red - specialize in enchantments for melee weapons (swords)
• Orange - produce enchantments for ranged weapons (bows, crossbows)
• Green - create enchantments for tools (pickaxes, shovels)
• Blue - responsible for armor and shield enchantments
• Teal - produce enchantments for fishing rods and tridents
• Purple - create enchantments for items from other mods (behave like grays if no compatible mods are present)

Genetic Characteristics

Using the Book Wyrm Analyzer, you can study and improve hereditary traits that are passed to offspring. Main parameters for selective breeding:

• Enchantment level - determines the number of levels required for digestion and the strength of created enchantments
• Digestion speed - affects how quickly the wyrm processes books
• Indigestion chance - probability that the wyrm will regurgitate shredded paper and magical digestive fluids

Byproducts

Despite the unpleasant consequences of indigestion, regurgitated boluses can be re-fed to partially restore magic or processed into Wyrmutagen. This substance allows for significant improvement of offspring characteristics when used correctly.

• Weapons from Guns Without Roses fall into orange category
• Items from Domestication Innovation, Alex's Mobs, Superior Shields, I Wanna Skate belong to purple
• Create: Potato Cannon - orange, Copper Backtank - blue
• Farmer's Delight: wyrm meat can be sliced, and stews require Cooking Pot
• Mekanism, Create, Thermal Expansion, Integrated Dynamics: scales can be ground into dyes
• Botania: changing scale colors through Mana Pool and Alchemy Catalyst

Configuration

Natural spawning is regulated by biome tags and Forge modifiers. Characteristics of wild wyrms, parameter limits, and Wyrmutagen effectiveness are configured in the common config. Enchantments for colored types can be modified through corresponding item tags.
