What is Botania?

Botania is a technology mod with natural magic theme. The core gameplay revolves around creating magical flowers and devices powered by Mana — the natural energy of the earth. The mod is fully playable as a standalone addition (and was specifically designed this way), but works excellently when combined with other modifications.

The main emphasis is on process automation, but without elements that make gameplay tedious — systems can be designed and planned rather than blindly assembled from JEI or wiki blueprints.

Development Philosophy

The developers follow these principles:

• No pipes, wires or similar elements — they've become boring and overused
• No GUIs — all interactions happen directly in the game world
• Minimal numbers — players shouldn't focus on perfect optimization of everything
• All resources should be as renewable as possible
