Bound For The Stars is an inspiring space modification designed in a retro‑futuristic style especially for the CurseForge Future Modjam 2025. Become the pilot of a cute starship and embark on a journey to explore the farthest and most whimsical planets of the Minecraft universe!

Getting Started

Even though Steve isn’t a rocket engineer by nature, with a little help from ordinary villagers space becomes within everyone’s reach! First, craft a telescope — this will intrigue one of the villagers, who will later turn into a real scientist. Scientific knowledge opens up access to trade where you can obtain a space helmet and your own stellar ship. Once preparations are complete, you can take off beyond the atmosphere and discover the unknown expanses of space.

Earth’s orbit serves as the starting point of your adventure and the main hub from which all routes to other mod locations depart. After leaving Earth’s atmosphere, it’s from here that you can either return back to your home planet or, on the contrary, head further to the Moon and other mysterious worlds.

The Moon

Threat level: medium Oxygen: none

It’s not as lifeless a place as it might seem at first glance. The Moon’s surface hides many secrets — and they lie not only on the surface.

• Moon Moo. These cows are believed to be descendants of the very lunar jumpers that once tried to leap over the Moon. They behave almost exactly like their earthly cousins. However, they have one special habit — their wool acquires a luxurious colour thanks to their fondness for moon melons!
• Aliens. Here you may encounter classic grey aliens; they have set up their base on the Moon. For the most part they are peaceful toward visitors, but become aggressive if someone threatens their colony. Surprisingly, the most advanced ones are armed with sophisticated space weaponry — you might even be able to get your hands on it as a trophy.
• Tardigrades. These small but hostile critters live beneath the satellite’s surface. They have low health, but are cunning and numerous, especially under the protection of a queen.
• Moon’s natural blocks. Rumour has it that the Moon is made of cheese; in reality its surface is covered by a thick layer of grey lunar dust beneath which lies lunar rock. These blocks can be used to build beautiful futuristic constructions, or, following the good old tradition, leave your footprints in the dust.
• Lunite. A unique ore mined on the Moon. Its main purpose is creating amazing light blocks that can be placed like park tiles.
• Cheese. According to legend, cheese lies deep in the lunar depths. But it can be found not only there — it also forms naturally from milk left in a cauldron.
• Moon Melons. A strange plant that grows on lunar dust when it is tilled and cultivated. Adventurers like its fruits a lot, but moon cows are the most enthusiastic eaters. After eating a fruit, the character can stay on the Moon without a special helmet for a while. They aren’t just a regular pumpkin — they can be stripped if you have an axe!
