

The Rake - BrysZI - (Horror mod i guess)
This creepy mod was inspired by RVVZ's and other developers' games about the legendary Rake creature. The author doesn't blindly copy a specific game but collects the most successful mechanics from various projects into a single whole.
Important information: The developer is planning a major project reboot, so there won't be any major updates — only small fixes and improvements.
Basic Mechanics
The Rake appears only at night, while daytime is peaceful. In the first minutes of the game, you'll notice a large dark gray cave — this is the Rake's base. At dusk, it emerges from the shelter and patrols the area within a 160-block radius from the cave.
Upon detecting the player, the monster enters "Sneaking Hunt" mode — moves slower but gains massive backstab damage (almost like a spy from Team Fortress 2). If you look directly at it, the chase phase activates with musical accompaniment — here speed and damage become standard. Unlike other horror mods, the Rake is somewhat slower than the player, allowing you to escape from it.
At dawn, the monster retreats to the cave with a scream, ignoring the player but still able to attack if approached too closely.
A merchant's stall rarely generates in the world, trading thematic items for emeralds — don't kill him, you won't get anything!
Combat System
Blocking: The Rake has a chance to block your attack, stunning you briefly. Sometimes a "Heavy Block" occurs, increasing the stun duration.
Monster Stunning: Powerful attacks stun the Rake, depriving it of the ability to move and attack. Maximum duration — 1 second. A stone sword stuns less than a netherite axe.
Furious Roar: When stunned for too long or blocking frequently, the Rake emits a stunning roar that:
- Shakes the screen
- Stuns the player
- Knocks back
- Gives the monster stun immunity for 3 seconds
Rage: When damage accumulates, the Rake enters rage mode:
- Unique sound and animation
- After 5 seconds — powerful roar
- For 20 seconds gains:
- Stun immunity
- Speed boost
- Increased damage
- Regeneration
Structures
Several structures randomly generate in the world:
- Rake's Cave — the monster's main base
- Merchant's Stall — appears every 1000-2000 blocks
- Tower — homage to originals, every 500-1500 blocks
- Church — reference to beta versions (for veterans), every 2000-4000 blocks
All structures are quite rare and minimalist so as not to interfere with gameplay.
Special Modes
During special events, the Rake always knows your location and is immune to stunning.
Blood Hour
- Health: 3000
- Speed: 0.6
- Damage: 55
- Duration: 2 minutes
- Teleportation: rarely
Features: When health drops to 50, there's a 1 in 5 chance (configurable) of rage mode activation. Often screams, helping determine direction by volume. The only mode requiring interaction to activate. Shaders — red.
Vision Hour
- Health: 1750
- Speed: 0.4
- Damage: 11
- Duration: 3 minutes 15 seconds
- Teleportation: often
Features: Weak but teleports constantly and uses "chemical warfare." After hitting, inflicts "Vision Hour Poisoning" — causes nausea and vomiting for several minutes. Shaders — green 🟢🟢
Blackout
- Health: 1250
- Speed: 0.45
- Damage: 22
- Duration: 2 minutes 45 seconds
- Teleportation: occasionally
Features: Completely black, blends with the background — only eyes visible. Dangerous for unarmored players: fast and kills with one hit. Shaders make everything below a certain brightness threshold completely black, desaturate and limit the color palette.
