Cabinets Reloaded
This mod is a complete rewrite of my very first Minecraft addition. It adds special cabinets to the game that allow you to display and securely store valuable items found during world exploration. Each cabinet features 9 storage slots and can be configured for either public or private access. The cabinet construction is blast-resistant.
Unique Features
You can now individually customize each cabinet, changing its appearance and functionality. The cabinets have two special slots for placing items that provide special abilities. Some items only fit into the second slot as they offer additional functionality beyond the primary one.
Primary Abilities
An example of a primary ability is crafting functionality. If you place a crafting table in the first ability slot (located below the buttons), the button above that slot will change to "Craft!". Clicking this button will open the crafting interface. Why is this useful? For concealment, space-saving, and improved aesthetics. The beauty is that you can change the ability item at any time or remove it completely.
Secondary Abilities
An example of a secondary ability is a torch. Placing a torch in the second ability slot will cause the cabinet to emit light as if the torch was placed in the cabinet's block space. The current version includes many other interesting abilities - experiment with different items to discover them!
Appearance Customization
The cabinet skin system offers incredible flexibility. You can use a glass door to display contents or apply a chest skin to designate armor storage - the possibilities are limited only by your imagination and available Minecraft textures.
Settings Management
- Unclaim: Click this button to reset ownership rights. The next player to open the cabinet becomes its new owner
- Item Display: Toggle the visibility of cabinet contents
- Access: Configure public or private access to the cabinet
- Orientation: Rotate the cabinet in north, east, south, west directions
- Pitch: Set the cabinet position to up, down, or horizontal
- Skins: Allow or prevent other players from changing the cabinet's appearance
- Door Type: Choose between left, right, or double door
Requirements
The mod requires MinecraftForge and FusionUtil.
