Cave Tweaks
Minecraft 1.18 update completely transformed the game's underground world. The Cave Tweaks modification (available for Fabric and Forge) extends these changes by adding even more diversity to cave systems.
The mod is compatible with most world generators, including Terralith.
Attention: Starting from Minecraft version 1.18.2, development of Cave Tweaks has been discontinued. The mod is no longer updated and only works on version 1.18.1.
Cave Tweaks offers extensive settings allowing you to modify almost all aspects of cave generation.
Using advanced configuration you can adjust:
- Cave sizes: Create rare giant underground halls or flat tunnels piercing through the entire world. Configure labyrinthine winding passages or make them wider.
- Aquifers: Increase their frequency, completely remove them, or create underground lakes in almost every cave.
- Underground biomes: Change their distribution in three-dimensional space or create entire underground kingdoms of lush caves.
- And much more!
In the default configuration:
- Underground biomes become truly three-dimensional — for example, you can find a dripstone cave beneath a lush one, which is impossible in the original game.
- Cave entrances can be rounded, layered, or have intermediate forms.
- Aquifers significantly increase in size and acquire diverse shapes. They more often create partially flooded caves.
- Winding tunnels usually close up near the surface to minimize landscape disruption. Occasionally they can open up into large cave entrances.
- Pillars appear less frequently in entrances, reducing visual clutter.
- Winding caves acquire bizarre curved shapes!
