CaveControl
CaveControl provides complete control over underground structure generation in the regular Minecraft world. This tool does not affect the Nether or dimensions from other mods, but may impact the Twilight Forest dimension.
Cave Density Adjustment
The cave density multiplier allows you to adjust their spawn frequency from maximum concentration to complete absence. Setting the value to zero will stop cave generation entirely. Lower density makes survival more comfortable and simplifies creative world building, while higher density opens up more exploration opportunities.
Similarly, you can control the frequency of ravine spawning. At high settings, they will appear much more frequently, while a zero value completely disables their generation.
Caution! Excessive cave or ravine density may cause game crashes, as Minecraft's underground generation algorithms require significant computational resources.
Structure Management
CaveControl allows enabling or disabling the generation of various underground structures:
- Mineshafts
- Mob spawner dungeons
- End fortresses
Generation Modifications
By default, all caves below level 10 are filled with lava. CaveControl allows disabling this feature, exposing bedrock in deep caves and making exploration safer. However, this leads to more frequent mob spawning due to the absence of lava lighting, and significantly reduces the amount of available lava for creating obsidian, decoration, or use in technical mods.
An option to fill deep caves with water is also available. It's important to note that this significantly reduces the density of such caves, as the generation algorithm does not consider water-filled cavities as valid cave nodes.
