ChatNotify

Never Miss Important Messages!

ChatNotify is a smart Minecraft mod that helps you always stay informed about important events in chat. When someone mentions your name or other conditions you set are triggered, you'll hear a special sound signal and see the corresponding message highlighted.

How It Works

The system operates on a simple principle:

1. The mod contains a list of notifications, each with one or more triggers
2. When a new message arrives in chat, ChatNotify checks all active triggers
3. If a trigger matches the message content, the corresponding notification is activated
4. By default, the message is highlighted and a sound signal is played

Notification Configuration

Open the settings screen through ModMenu (Fabric) or the mod list (NeoForge) to create and configure your notifications.

Trigger Types

Click the ~ button to the left of the text field to select the trigger type:

• Normal - case-insensitive and doesn't match partial words
• Key - matches specific message types by their translation key
• Regular expressions - for advanced users, provides maximum flexibility

Trigger Editor

Use the ✎ button to open the trigger editor, where you can test settings on real messages.

Additional Settings

In each notification's settings section you'll find:

• Highlight style - customization of highlighted message appearance
• Sound options - sound selection, source and volume
• Inclusion/exclusion conditions - additional filters for precise control
• Automatic responses - sending messages when notification triggers

Interface Features

ChatNotify uses enhanced controls:

• Color and sound buttons support right-click to toggle state
• Text fields with extended selection and edit history
• Fullscreen widgets with intuitive controls
• Increased maximum chat size to 500 pixels

Compatibility

The mod works on Fabric (requires Fabric API and ModMenu) and NeoForge (no additional dependencies required).
