Chest Cavity
The Chest Cavity modification offers a unique mechanic for managing your character's internal organs. Using a special tool - the "chest opener" - you gain access to an additional inventory where vital organs are located.
Organ System Features
Organs come in three quality levels: rotten, animal, and human. Rotten organs work half as well as human ones, while animal organs are 25% less effective. Initially, your character has a complete set of human organs, but there's always room for additional improvements.
Main Organ Types and Their Functions:
Hearts - determine health level. Lack of a heart is fatal, and a poor-quality heart makes you vulnerable. Improved hearts increase maximum health.
Lungs - control breathing. Without lungs, the character dies, and weak lungs cause shortness of breath. Quality lungs allow longer breath-holding.
Ribs - provide protection. Lack of ribs makes you susceptible to damage, while strong ribs increase damage resistance.
Muscles - affect strength and speed. Weak muscles slow movement and reduce strength, while developed musculature makes the character fast and strong.
Spleens - regulate recovery. A poor spleen slows natural healing, while quality organs accelerate this process.
Kidneys - purify blood. Lack of kidneys can lead to poisoning, although additional kidneys don't provide significant advantages.
Spines - ensure mobility. Without a spine, the character cannot move. Additional spines increase protection, although ribs are more effective.
Livers - remove toxins. A weak liver slows cleansing from negative effects, while a healthy liver deals with poisonings faster.
Intestines - affect saturation. Poor-quality intestines reduce the nutritional value of food, while developed ones increase saturation.
Stomachs - determine fullness. A poor stomach makes food less nutritious, while quality stomachs increase food efficiency.
Appendixes - special organs that bring luck. Collecting appendixes unlocks additional opportunities.
Additional Features
Many creatures possess unique organs with special effects. Some items can be crafted before making the first pickaxe - they neutralize damage from opening the chest cavity.
With the Anthropophagy modification installed, two heart variants become available: Cannibal Heart (quality depends on cannibalism level) and Tethered Cannibal Heart (animal quality, returns cannibalism to the initial level).
