Colorful Dungeons
This project transforms a previously created datapack into a full-fledged mod that adds themed dungeons to the game, each dedicated to one of Minecraft's color shades. The modification currently includes 5 colorful dungeons, with future plans to create underground complexes for all sixteen game colors.
Current Version and Compatibility
The mod's functionality is limited to versions 1.21 and 1.21.1. Once all sixteen colorful dungeons are implemented, the developer plans to update the mod for newer releases, but backward compatibility with older Minecraft versions will not be provided.
New Enchantment Magic
The mod includes a whole arsenal of unique enchantments, though not all are currently obtainable. Some spells are used exclusively for mob and boss abilities and remain unavailable to players.
If you want to learn details about each enchantment directly in the game, install the Enchantment Descriptions mod for magical effect descriptions.
Available Enchantments List:
- Anti Arrow: complete immunity to arrows
- Blessing Destroyer: removes positive effects from the target
- Burner: works like fire aspect, but removes fire resistance if the target has it
- Explosion: creates an explosion on the target with power scaling by level; does not destroy blocks
- Lifesteal: with (5 level)% chance to restore 2 hearts after attacking a mob
- Lightning: summons lightning on the target
- Overhealing: with (5 level)% chance to gain 2 temporary absorption hearts for 10 seconds
- Poison: poisons the target for 5 seconds (poison level = enchantment level)
- Slowness: slows the target for 5 seconds
- Weakness: weakens the target for 5 seconds
- Wither: applies wither effect to the target for 5 seconds
Currently Obtainable:
You can currently find Lifesteal, Overhealing, Poison, Slowness, and Weakness enchantments in dungeons. Other spells will become available in future updates. The main rule is that these unique charms can only be obtained as dungeon loot.
Gameplay Features
Attention: do not attempt to transfer these enchantments using tools from other mods! You won't be able to apply them to regular items through disenchanters or anvils — such attempts will simply fail. This is a deliberate limitation to preserve the mod's balance.
However, if you still wish to change the rules, you can edit datapack files in the colorfuldungeons\enchantment folder, modifying the "supported_items" and "max_level" parameters in specific enchantment json files. Remember — this may disrupt game balance!
When exploring dungeons, thoroughly check shulker boxes, dispensers, hoppers, and other containers, as valuable loot may be hidden there too.
Loot Mechanics
Most chests and containers contain ordinary or decorative items, but there's a chance to find 1+ rare item (approximately 20% probability). This could be:
- Upgraded weapons or armor
- Special items (usually dye matching the dungeon's color) that provide attack or health bonuses
- Unusual items for the container type (such as healing potion among food)
If you don't find valuable items on your first try — keep searching, premium loot will definitely come your way!
Dungeon Features
𝗨𝗣𝗖𝗨𝗺𝗔 generate randomly. Each level may contain from 2 rooms to over 100 chambers! If you find a small dungeon — simply search for another one.
Dungeons are ordered by increasing difficulty. If you struggle with an easy one, don't attempt to storm the difficult ones — you'll likely need equipment from previous halls.
Important: dungeons are specifically designed for challenging gameplay — you'll be attacked by massive hordes of mobs.
Recommended Mod
For more comfortable progression, install the Better Combat mod — it allows dealing damage to multiple enemies with a single sword swing. Without it, battles against huge mob groups may prove extremely difficult.
