Colormatic
Colormatic opens up completely new possibilities for resource pack creators to customize Minecraft's color palette. This mod allows changing those colors in the game that were previously hardcoded and could not be modified.
What can be changed?
With Colormatic, you get full control over visual design:
- Vegetation in various biomes: swamp grass, dark oak foliage and other types
- Seasonal changes of birch and spruce leaves
- Color and transparency of water resources
- Atmospheric effects: sky, fog and particles
- Visual display of agricultural crops
- Color palette of dyes
- Lighting and light maps
- Many other visual elements
Compatibility and features
The mod fully supports resource packs created to work with Optifine's custom colors feature, but offers significantly broader functionality:
- Work with modified biomes and dimensions
- Ability to overlay multiple color maps for biomes
- Support for custom biomes in grid format
- Loading JSON configurations through the special colormatic:colormap path
Technical requirements
The mod requires Fabric API to be installed. Configuration is available through standard ModMenu interfaces or similar mods.
Actually, Colormatic only requires fabric-resource-loader (or its equivalent in Quilt), which is usually included in the Fabric API distribution.
Important advantage
Colormatic is fully compatible with Sodium, allowing it to be used in high-performance Minecraft builds.
