Composable Automation (Fabric)

This mod significantly expands automation possibilities in Minecraft while remaining faithful to the vanilla game style. You won't find super-intelligent blocks that automatically decide where to route items or smart pipes here. Instead, the mod provides a set of simple mechanics that, when combined with regular game mechanics, open up significantly more automation opportunities.

Mod blocks

Main Blocks

Dynamic Lamp - works like a regular redstone lamp, but its brightness depends on the strength of the received signal.

Rotator - rotates the block above it with each redstone signal. Switches between right-handed and left-handed rotation. When combined with a dropper, it can split items into multiple streams. Cannot rotate extended pistons.

Chute - this waterproof block has a single-slot inventory and transfers items to the container it's connected to, similar to a hopper. Like a hopper, it cannot face upward. When receiving a redstone signal, it retains the last item in its inventory. This mechanic can be combined with the rotator for sorting stackable items.

Grated Hopper - created by adding iron bars to a regular hopper. Only accepts stackable items, helping to separate them from non-stackable ones.

Photodetector - available in red, green, and blue variants. When a colored block is placed in front of the detector, it outputs a full (15), half (8), or zero (0) redstone signal depending on the block color. Works by default with wool, terracotta, stained glass, concrete, concrete powder, and shulker boxes. Can be used to encode multiple data bits in a single block. Compatible with any blocks tagged: "red", "green", "blue", "light_red", "light_green", and "light_blue".

Functional Tweaks

Each of these modifications can be individually disabled through configuration.

Auto Planting - plantable materials (seeds, saplings, etc.) automatically plant themselves on suitable blocks after a few seconds when dropped. Doesn't work if the item is moving in a water stream.

Dispenser Feeding - dispensers feed animals if the item inside is edible for the creature directly in front. When using mods that add new animal foods, you'll need to whitelist those items in the configuration. All vanilla animal-edible items are included by default.

Dispenser Toggling - dispensers with sticks toggle blocks placed in front of them. For example, you can change repeater modes, open/close doors, activate buttons and much more. Compatible with any blocks tagged as "toggleable".

Exploding Transformation - some items transform into other items when exploded instead of disappearing. For example: stone -> cobblestone -> gravel -> sand. Exploding gravel also has a chance of dropping flint. Explosion recipes are configurable via data packs. Compatible with any ore-to-dust crushing recipes registered with Cotton ("c:crushing" recipe type).

Burning - when ignited, some dropped items transform into other items for a short time before disappearing. You need to collect the transformed item with a hopper or pick it up. Recommend building a mechanism for precise timing control.

Soaking - some items change when dropped into certain liquids. Not many recipes yet, but you can try it with sponge -> wet sponge. Like previous mechanics, configurable via data packs.

Additional Features

Nether Dust - obtained by exploding the appropriate block. In the future, it will be useful for mass TNT production, so if easy access to TNT unbalances your mod pack, either don't use this mod or remove that recipe.

Video Demonstration

The video shows all the main mechanics of the mod in action: intelligent transportation, sorting and processing systems without using complex automation.
