Considerate endermen

Concept and Purpose

Endermen appear, wander aimlessly around the area, and disappear... often taking grass blocks with them.

This usually happens unnoticed by the player while they're busy arranging their garden or building mechanisms. Over time, the neat grassy areas around your base turn into a pitted surface with numerous holes.

Personally, I don't like such holes and constantly feel the urge to fill them in. Of course, other solutions exist - for example, a simple datapack can completely prevent endermen from picking up blocks. But that doesn't suit me - I don't want to completely deprive endermen of their unique behavior and character. I just want to get rid of the holes. If you share this desire, then this "install and forget" mod was created specifically for you.

How the Mod Works

This modification prevents endermen from picking up blocks if the target block doesn't have at least one free space on the north/south sides AND at least one free space on the east/west sides.

That's all the mod does (examples of its operation can be seen in the gallery).

Endermen will still be able to take blocks they like, but when they find a line of grass blocks, they'll have to start from the corner block.
