Contagion - A Zombie Infection Mod
Detailed Mod Description
The Contagion mod introduces a new deadly infection mechanic transmitted by zombies into the game. This creation transforms ordinary encounters with the undead into a genuine survival threat even for experienced players.
Core Mechanics
When a zombie attacks you, there is a significant chance of infection (default 80%). However, equipping high-quality armor substantially reduces this risk - a full set of diamond or netherite gear provides up to 60% protection. Be cautious: once the infection timer runs out, your character dies instantly.
Starting from version 1.5.0, a special indicator appears in the interface showing the current infection protection level. For example, a reading of 20% means that out of 10 zombie hits, 8 will most likely lead to infection. This display can be enabled, disabled, and moved in client configuration settings.
Cure Crafting Chain
When defeating zombies, you will get a unique item - contagious flesh with a 7.5% probability. The Looting enchantment increases this chance by 2.5% per level.
Antidote Manufacturing Steps:
- Thermal Processing: Cook the contagious flesh to obtain heated zombie flesh, which no longer poses an infectious threat.
- Gold Enhancement: Combine the heated zombie flesh with gold ingots, creating a unique composition - gold streaked zombie flesh. Consuming this substance resets the infection timer but does not completely cure you.
- Potion Creation: The final step - mixing gold streaked flesh with a base awkward potion in a brewing stand to create the true cure.
To extend the cure's duration, you can use redstone - it transforms the regular potion into a cure potion tier II, lasting three times longer.
Customizability
The mod provides extensive customization options through separate configuration files for server and client (starting from version 1.5.1, old common configuration files are ignored). This allows complete adaptation of the experience to the needs of specific servers or players.
