Crawling Chaos
About the Mod
This modification represents a modern reinterpretation of the once-popular "Anti Plants Virus mod" created for early versions of Minecraft. The author aims not only to adapt original content to current game versions but also to expand it with new interesting elements.
The main theme of the mod revolves around giant insects and a specific virus affecting plants, which has multiple usage options. Arachnids and insects can spawn in any corner of the game world, but they're most commonly found in the new unique biome — Bug Forest.
Bosses from the introduced system will spawn exclusively in this new biome. As expected from quality mods, Crawling Chaos offers players various tools and armor that can be upgraded using modern game mechanics, including upgrade templates and decorative trims.
Required Dependencies
For full functionality of all mod features, TerraBlender library must be installed, as without it the new biome won't work correctly.
Bug Forest
This territory stands out with its unusual color palette and whimsical flora. You'll encounter a completely new tree type and unique vegetation.
Example seed for quick access to the biome: 7874759162448879384
Bug Oak trees are represented by a complete set of various blocks and items:
Ancient Exoskeleton Stone — a new ore found only in this biome with frequency similar to iron ore. Requires an iron pickaxe or better to mine.
When mined, you'll receive Ancient Exoskeleton, used to create Serupinea Lining and Knight Lining.
Mobs
Knight Bug
The main boss of the mod — a giant beetle with 200 health points and knockback resistance. Although combat mechanics are still being developed, the mob is already ready for confrontation.
As loot, it drops Virus Crystals for trading with the Loneger, and Knight Exoskeleton for upgrading Serupinea armor.
Serupinea
An insect feeding on carrion with knockback resistance. Found in Forests, Plains, Jungles, Swamps, and primarily in Bug Forest.
Loot includes rotten flesh and exoskeleton used to create tools and an enhanced version of iron armor.
Parasite Worm and Eroded Zombie
These parasites infect regular zombies, turning them into more dangerous Eroded Zombies. Notably, they ignore drowned as they're too wet, while husks are too dry for infection.
Eroded Zombies have 60 health points, poison targets in melee combat, and spit acid in response to receiving damage. Parasites make them smarter — they avoid sunlight by hiding in shade or immersing themselves in water.
When killed, these zombies drop 2-4 parasite worms.
Acarus
A nocturnal inhabitant of Bug Forest, whose attacks inflict Mining Fatigue and Slowness effects.
Loneger
A solitary resident of Bug Forest dwelling in a modest cabin. Offers various goods in exchange for Virus Crystals dropped by Knight Bug.
Prism Frog
A large amphibian twice the size of standard frogs. Inspired by poison dart frogs, currently available in one color variant.
Skeleton Friend
An allied skeleton that doesn't attack the player. It will fight hostile mobs, and you can equip it with armor and weapons, similar to an armor stand.
To summon, use the Soulbone Cauldron block by placing a skeleton skull into it.
Skeleton Friend Upgrades:
Bone Flame Upgrade: transforms into Burned Skeleton Friend, making it fire resistant. Its attacks ignite enemies.
Bone Frozen Upgrade: transforms into Snowy Skeleton Friend, whose attacks inflict Slowness.
Bone Mossy Upgrade: transforms into Mossy Skeleton Friend, whose attacks poison opponents.
Bone Obsidian Upgrade: transforms into Obsidian Skeleton Friend, making it immune to fire and explosions with permanent Resistance II effect.
Bone Withered Upgrade: transforms into Withered Skeleton Friend, whose attacks cause Wither effect.
Carrier Bug
A type of spider with not-yet-implemented mechanics, though already found in Bug Forest.
Helen
A butterfly that should poison upon contact, but this mechanic remains inactive.
