Crimson Curse: Infection Mod

An ancient virus that lay dormant in the Crimson Forests of the Nether has escaped to the Overworld. With access to water, it has begun evolving, giving rise to horrors beyond imagination...
The Outbreak Begins
Five in-game days after creating a world, the first Bloodlink appears - a mob capable of infecting the area around it. While you remain outside its influence zone, the infection doesn't significantly impact gameplay. However, one Bloodlink quickly multiplies to two, then three, and soon dozens. Before you know it, the harmless Crimson Invaders you spotted in the distance evolve and tear through your base walls.

Upon loading your world, a red and gray book should appear. If it doesn't, the installation was performed incorrectly.

- Limited compatibility with mods that add custom blocks
- Compatibility with Biomes O' Plenty, Friends&Foes, and Traveler's Backpack is guaranteed
- Gravestone and automated resource gathering mods are recommended
Infection Mechanics
Core Systems
Phases: Determine infection strength (5 phases total), influence enemy appearances and events
Points: Control current infection phase, accumulated upon reaching certain mass levels
Mass: Temporary scoring system, increases from infecting blocks and mobs. Resets and adds points when thresholds are reached
Threshold Values: 1/0-9/1000, 2/10-29/3000, 3/30-59/6000, 4/60-99/8000, 5/100+/7000
Craftable Items
Infection Extractors: Remove infection points and mass. When mass turns negative, all Bloodlinks take continuous damage
Bloodlink Power: Temporary attribute boosts for mobs
Raids: Random events triggered at mass threshold, creating new infection zones
