This is a technical modification whose primary goal is to make automation truly engaging. Unlike many other mods, there are no ready-made universal solutions here—every system requires thoughtful approach and careful planning to achieve optimal results.

The distinctive feature of Crossroads is that to create complex mechanisms, the player must combine simple machines and devices. For example, you'll need to design heat distribution systems in such a way as to reach maximum temperature without melting the equipment, as well as configure gear setups to achieve specific speed-to-energy ratios.

Gameplay Features

The mod's balancing principle focuses not on waiting for processes to complete or searching for rare resources, but on the player's ability to think outside the box when designing automation systems. Although many tasks are indeed challenging to implement, the end results are worth it—you'll gain access to powerful staffs that summon lightning; flying mounts; as well as capabilities for cheap production of most basic materials, including iron and redstone.

Crossroads is often compared to the Botania modification—it can be used as a standalone challenge and played exclusively with it for a unique experience.
